Our mission is to enrich lives in the Augusta River Region by advancing our vibrant, cultural arts.

Founded in 1968 by the Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce, the Junior Woman’s Club, and the Junior League of Augusta to serve as an umbrella organization for the arts in Augusta, we have taken an active role in supporting Augusta’s cultural identity. We currently act as Augusta’s Public Art Agency, facilitating the creation of art in public spaces. We administer re-granting arts funds from the City of Augusta through the City Arts Grants Program. We manage the Augusta Arts Calendar where you can see what arts events are happening with all their details in one location. We organize opportunities and events for both artists and art lovers, including the Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival, a 2 1/2 day celebration of the varied arts and cultural diversity that make up Augusta. Other events and outreach programs we produce are: Aspirations workshop series, the annual Wet Paint Party and Sale, the annual Arts Day Luncheon, and the annual Arts Awards dinner. Additionally, we manage two public galleries: The City Gallery, located on the first flor of the Municipal Building at 535 Telfair Street, and The Gallery at Augusta & Co., Destination Augusta's flagship storefront of all things local and wonderful at 1010 Broad Street.

DEADLINE EXTENDED! 📣

Good news, CSRA artists! The submission deadline for “History Explored,” a special upcoming exhibition at the Augusta & Co. Gallery celebrating Augusta’s rich African American & Black history, has been extended to November 29, 2026!

Artists are encouraged to explore the people, places, stories, traditions, and experiences that have shaped Augusta’s Black communities and continue to influence our region today. Work can be inspired by the Mayoral Collection of Augusta Black History, Augusta’s Black Arts History series, or your own research and perspective.

We welcome artists of all backgrounds, experience levels, and visual arts disciplines, including painting, photography, sculpture, fiber, ceramics, mixed media, digital art, and more.

We are always excited for opportunities to showcase the incredible creativity and talent that make Augusta such a special place!
