Butler County Kansas Animal Response Team and Butler County Kansas CERT BuCART is under the management of Butler County Emergency Management. BuCART members can not respond to wildlife situations.

The Butler County Animal Response Team (BuCART) helps ensure the safety, survival and welfare of any animal affected by natural and man-made disasters in our area. BuCART and CERT members are dedicated to educating the general public on disaster preparedness. They recognize that preparedness is the key to minimizing the effects of disasters for both people and their pets. BuCART and CERT volunteer

s are deployed by Butler County Emergency Management in natural or man-made disasters to establish emergency pet shelters for pets displaced by the disaster and provide other disaster support services as directed by Emergency Management, including traffic control, damage assessments, staff volunteer reception centers, radio support, and other duties as assigned. BuCART volunteers are also trained in large animal rescue and have the equipment to assist with large animal rescues. Butler County Animal Response Team offers 'Pets Inside' window clings at dog washes and outreach events listed on our page.

On July 11, from 10 am to 1 pm, visit Andover Fire-Rescue at 650 S. Andover Road for window clings and disaster preparedness information. Dog baths will be available for suggested $10 donation. Alex's House Dog Rescue will join us and offer microchipping for $20.
