Working families and small businesses saw real relief under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Wages went up. Jobs came back. Families saved more—when it mattered most.

But unless Congress acts, key parts of that relief could vanish, just as Americans face rising costs and economic uncertainty.

What’s the urgency with this 25 year USD 402 bond? They know if they wait until after the bond expires and people see the actual difference in their taxes and enrollment continues to decline voters will never approve another bond. That’s the only urgency; not letting uninformed taxpayers actually see how much of their property taxes go to the school.

Kansas lost population over the last two years, as some of the largest cities and counties also lost population.

So they have virtual classes, are losing students to home school, private schools and other districts, a declining population, but still want us to believe these expensive upgrades need to be a larger part of your monthly budget for more space just in case they attract kids from other districts?

Student enrollment is down in many areas across the nation. Now Is not the time to strap the taxpayers down for 25 years with a bond to send extra money going to a school district losing students. If you want your kid in a school building like Andover has to offer, send your kid to Andover schools. What USD 402 does not want you to know is kids ARE going to other districts and taking the state money with them. USD 402 is throwing up a hope and a prayer with our money thinking it will attract kids. It’s a pipe dream the taxpayers will be on the hook for long after this fails and the current administration moves on to other other communities to destroy.

According to census.gov, Augusta DECREASED in population size from 2010 to 2020. This does NOT suggest any growth which is implied by USD 402 for justifying the USD 402 bond.
