Back for week four of Member Monday and starting to notice a pattern…ARHS is on fire in all the departments and we think you should know it! Introducing our first Member Monday of November, Katy Nuttman, Theatre and English Instructor at Auburn Riverside High School.
Not only was Katy ARHS Teacher of the year in 2024, but she is also one of a kind in her approach to Education. She has developed and implemented equity focused courses like ASD Theatre classes, Outdoor Literature and Intersectional Art and Literature. Her classroom is a beautifully organized theatre kid dreamland.
Her work within the Theatre department is unmatched as she manages the budget, facilities, public relations, artistic direction and rehearsals through her own professional theatre experience. She raised over $10,000 profit through theatrical production ticket sales for ARHS. Outside of High School Theatre Katy sits as the Regional Director of Washington Thespians Executive Board. She is an Ensemble Company Member and Long-Form Play Director with Jet City Improv in Seattle. She has been an International and Domestic student educational tour leader with EF Tours in Greece, NYC, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France and Spain. Her accomplishments can be seen interwoven into the work she has done at Auburn Riverside.
We are so proud to have Katy in Auburn School District and our Union! Cheers to Katy for taking her life’s passion and inspiring so many of our Auburn Students to follow their own. There’s no one more deserving of this Member Monday!
