Gateway Center

Gateway Center GWC is a proven leader in the Atlanta community and has positioned ourselves to be adaptable to respond to the needs of those experiencing homelessness.

GWC provides more than 330 places for men who enter into programs geared to address the underlying reasons for their homelessness, such as unemployment, addictions, mental illness or domestic abuse. The Gateway Center is filled to capacity nearly every day of the year. Including those people who turn to the Gateway Center for point in time services (bathrooms and showers, laundry, clothing, storage, clinic), we serve over 500 people every day.

Timothy City consistently brings dedication, dependability, and a strong commitment to his role as a Care Coordinator. He goes above and beyond to support our guests, particularly through his work with Rapid Rehousing initiatives.

Through his work with Rapid Rehousing, Tim takes a thoughtful and solution-focused approach to helping guests navigate the housing process. He takes the time to understand their needs and works diligently to help them move forward toward stable housing. His commitment to finding ways to assist guests and overcome challenges reflects his willingness to go beyond the basic expectations of his role.

Let’s congratulate Timothy as he was our September Employee of the Month.

Gateway Center’s Human Clay was a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

To our Event Chairs, Anna Roach and Kashi Sehgal; our Emcee, Condace Pressley; our Auctioneer, Jordan Campbell; and every vendor, volunteer, sponsor, donor, and supporter who helped make this year’s Human Clay possible: THANK YOU!

Together, WE are raising funds, hope, creating opportunity, and Shaping Atlanta’s Future Together. Thank you for believing that when we work together, we can make a lasting difference.

Gateway Center was grateful to join the Aging in Grace gathering at the Cathedral of St. Philip to discuss housing, healthcare, and support for Atlanta’s seniors.

Thank you to the organizers and fellow service providers for sharing knowledge, resources, and a commitment to our older neighbors. Together, we can help seniors age with dignity, stability, and connection.

We are excited to recognize and celebrate our summer 2026 Employees of the Month, LaToya McClain and Lacquanda Rosson.

Lacquanda consistently demonstrates dedication, dependability, and a strong commitment to her role and the individuals we serve. Her commitment to excellence has been recognized by our community partners, who named Lacquanda as the Top Assessor for the City of Atlanta. This outstanding achievement reflects the quality of her work, her knowledge and expertise, and the positive impact she makes through her role at Gateway Center.

Please also join us in congratulating LaToya McClain. LaToya has played a key role in streamlining front desk processes, helping to improve efficiency and enhance the overall guest experience. Her extensive experience and knowledge allow her to effectively navigate challenging situations with professionalism, confidence, and compassion. She consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of the Engagement Center.

“No matter your income. No matter your zip code. No matter your circumstances in life… You should have what you need to live well,” said Mayor Andre Dickens at the grand opening of Gateway Center’s new AT&T Learning Center.

For Gateway, “what you need to live well” goes beyond a bed or a meal. It means having access to the tools, resources, dignity, and support that can help someone move from experiencing homelessness toward stability.

And the fact that Mayor Andre Dickens said it at the opening of the AT&T Learning Center makes the message even more powerful. The center represents a very tangible example of that belief: access to technology, education, digital skills, career resources, and opportunity should be available to people experiencing homelessness, too.
