Important: Proposed Route 23 Bypass

We are asking our Recreation Unlimited families, campers, and supporters to please review the attached letter regarding concerns with the proposed Route 23 Bypass and its potential effects on Recreation Unlimited and the individuals we serve.

If you have concerns about the proposed bypass or its placement, we encourage you to share your comments directly with the Ohio Department of Transportation at [email protected].

Please consider sharing how the proposed bypass could affect you, your camper, your family, or your experience at Recreation Unlimited. Your voice matters, and community input is an important part of this process.

🚓🚑🚒 Safety Day at Recreation Unlimited! 🚒🚑🚓

Our campers look forward to Camper Safety Day every summer, and this year's event on July 8 was another incredible success!

We are incredibly grateful to the Delaware County and regional safety agencies that spent time with our Summer Residential and Summer Day Camp campers, teaching them about safety and giving them the opportunity to explore emergency vehicles, equipment, and the important work they do in our community.

A special thank you to Scott Stewart, Deputy Director/LEPC Information Coordinator with the Delaware County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, for organizing this wonderful event. We also continue to honor the memory of Bobby Lavender, whose dedication made Camper Safety Day a cherished tradition for so many years.

🏕️ Summer camp is in full swing, and we're still looking for a few caring nurses to join our team!

If you're looking for a nursing opportunity that's different from the typical clinic, office, or hospital setting, we'd love to hear from you.

At Recreation Unlimited, our nurses help children and adults with disabilities and health concerns stay healthy so they can fully participate in the camp experience. From medication administration to first aid support, you'll help campers spend more time canoeing, climbing our tower, fishing, swimming, making friends, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

We're currently seeking:
• Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
• Registered Nurses (RNs)
• Nurse Practitioners
• Physicians
• Medication aides
• Other qualified medical professionals

Whether you can help for a few hours a week, one camp session, or the remainder of the summer, we have flexible paid opportunities available.

As a Counselor or Program Leader, you’ll work directly with individuals with disabilities—leading activities, supporting daily routines, shaping skills development, and helping create a camp experience that is safe, engaging, accessible, and meaningful. Whether it’s facilitating a program, building connections with campers, or providing accommodations that promote success and independence, your role makes a direct impact every day.

This opportunity is open to anyone who wants to make a difference in their community. While many of our staff come from fields like education or healthcare, others have backgrounds in a diverse array of fields.
