Let's Flamingle for a Cure Host to the annual summer event in Central Ohio: Let's Flamingle for Cure! The hallmark of Rett syndrome is near constant repetitive hand movements while awake.

We raise funds for treatments for Rett syndrome and empowerment for families off loved ones with Rett syndrome. Rett syndrome is a rare genetic neurological disorder that affects 1 in 10,000 females (and even more rarely in males) and begins to display itself in missed milestones or regression at 6-18 months. Rett syndrome leads to severe impairments, affecting nearly every aspect of life: ability

to speak, walk, eat and breathe easily. They may struggle to sleep, suffer from seizures and Cortical Visual Impairment, among other issues. Cognitive assessment in children with Rett syndrome is complicated, but we know that they understand far more than they can communicate to us, evidenced by their bright and attentive eyes, and their ability to express a wide spectrum of moods and emotions. We want to raise awareness of this terrible disorder and show the capabilities of our extraordinary Rett Warriors. DM us to feature your daughter or son!

Let’s Flamingle for a Cure 2026 was such a magical day! Here’s a quick break down of the numbers:

8️⃣ - the number of years we’ve been Flamingling for a Cure

1️⃣1️⃣ - the number of Rett Warriors that were our honored guests

4️⃣7️⃣ - the number of raffle winners from our most impressive raffle yet, thanks to our incredible committee, lead by Donna Smith and the Grandmas 💜

5️⃣8️⃣ - the age of our oldest guest with Rett, experiencing her first Rett syndrome event. She went on to try a communication device for the first time in her life this week with Kourtney Barnum because it’s never too late to communicate!

❔- the number of bubbles, giggles, fun and joy that the kids zone brought, thanks to Leah Connor

+$75,000 - the amount you generously helped us raise for research and support for families living with Rett syndrome this year 🙏

+$600,000 - the amount of money we’ve raised for Rett syndrome research and family support since 2017

♾️ - there is no number that can capture the love we felt, the generosity of our community, or the impact of seeing our Rett families come together in the name of hope. Hope for a cure, hope that we’re not alone on this isolating journey, and hope for a brighter future for our warriors.

We are so grateful to everyone that helped make this year a success in so many ways. Rett is relentless and unforgiving, and we often feel alone in our fight. Thank you for reminding us that we are never alone. Your light helps carry us through the darkest days. Thank you for Flamingling with us. 🦩

Are you a family with a Rett Warrior? Then let’s meet up!

This is one of the most special parts of Flamingle: the time we make to intentionally get our amazing kids together to meet and mingle. Rett can be extremely isolating and lonely. We want this time to be one of connection and support. You are not alone and neither is your child. You have a whole flock behind you! We can’t wait to see you 💜

The flock has been working hard behind the scenes for months to create a raffle that’s bigger, better, and more exciting than ever—all in support of families affected by Rett syndrome.
