My heart is overflowing. 💗📚
Years ago, when I first started StoryBook Treasures, an international equestrian nonprofit based in Wellington, Florida—JustWorld International—reached out and shared that they were looking for a U.S.-based project that aligned with their mission of helping children through education.
When they asked where I thought they should invest, I did my research and said, “How about right here in Palm Beach County?”
I suggested we partner to support a school in the Glades because the need was so great, and it was only about 30 minutes from JustWorld International’s headquarters.
I still remember someone saying that people didn’t usually invest in the Glades because they weren’t sure it would create lasting impact.
Looking back, that decision wasn’t just about choosing a school. It was about believing every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their zip code. What happened next is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people choose to invest in possibility instead of limitations. That one decision changed the trajectory of an entire school—and the lives of countless children.
When I first walked into Pioneer Park Elementary, none of us could have imagined what this partnership would become.
Today, Pioneer Park is just 4 points away from earning an A rating, reading proficiency has increased by 14 points, and the school has achieved its best academic performance in 20 years.
Those aren’t just statistics.
They represent children who now see themselves as readers. Families reading together at home. Teachers who pour their hearts into every lesson. A principal who leads with unwavering dedication. A community that refused to give up. And the incredible impact that happens when people believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
To Principal Sandra Lianie Moreau, the amazing teachers, staff, families, and students—thank you for allowing StoryBook Treasures to be part of your journey. Watching your school grow over the years has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.
To Jessica Newman, JustWorld International, and every donor who has supported this partnership—thank you for believing in these children. Your generosity didn’t simply provide books. You helped build a culture of literacy, strengthen families, inspire hope, and create opportunities that will impact generations to come.
