Long before Katherine Johnson calculated the trajectories that sent American astronauts into orbit, she was a little girl in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, walking the exact number of steps from her house to church every week. Faith wasn't a phase for her — it was the rhythm she grew up in, and it never left.

She carried that rhythm into a career spent proving her brilliance in rooms that doubted her, and into a church pew she never gave up — serving for over 50 years at Carver Memorial Presbyterian in Newport News, eventually leading its finance committee. Colleagues who worked beside her for years often had no idea she'd helped put men on the moon. They just knew her as steady, humble, and faithful.

Be transformed, not conformed.
Romans 12:2 reminds us not to simply follow the ways of the world, but to let God transform us from the inside out. As our minds and hearts are renewed, we begin to see God’s will more clearly and discover what is good, pleasing, and right.
