We’re having a great time connecting with our Arlington County community at the Arlington County Fair! 🎡🎢

Our CERT volunteers met hundreds of people throughout the fair, sharing information about the training program and how neighbors can prepare, respond, and support one another during emergencies.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and took the time to connect with us. Building a safer, stronger, and more prepared community starts with all of us! 💙

Virginia's Tax-Free Weekend is August 7–9, 2026. It's the perfect time to stock up on eligible emergency preparedness supplies while saving on sales tax.

Consider adding or replacing items in your emergency kit, such as:

🔋 Batteries
🩹 First aid supplies
🔌 Portable power sources
⛽ Eligible generators and other qualifying preparedness items

We need your help to spread the word!

If you've completed CERT training, you know the impact it can have—not just for you, but for our entire community. No one can tell the CERT story better than those who have lived it.

Think about the people in your life who are always willing to lend a hand: the coworker who steps up, the neighbor who checks in during storms, or the friend who's been looking for a meaningful way to serve. Invite them to apply. Your recommendation could be the reason they join.

Every new CERT member strengthens Arlington's ability to respond when emergencies happen. More trained volunteers means more prepared neighbors, more calm leaders during a crisis, and a more resilient community.

You can also help by stopping by one of our community outreach events throughout the year and encouraging others to learn more about CERT.
