Grand Chute Lions Club

The Grand Chute Lions Club was first chartered in September 1977 with 33 members who had a vision of making the Fox Valley a better place in which to live.

Picture of a few of the school supplies that the Grand Chute Lions club have purchased for 4 schools in Appleton. While school supplies are on sale, items are purchased and will be delivered to the schools in January. In January, the schools are typically out of or running low of supplies for students in need.

Grand Chute Lions members gathered Friday, August 7th, to remember a special friend and Lion member Jim Leppla. Jim was a dedicated Lion and was honored with a Melvin Jones Fellowship. Jim spent many hours on building wheel chair ramps from meeting individuals needing ramp, designing ramp, making sure necessary materials were on hand to build ramp and building ramp. Jim was could also be found serving at the Grand Chute Lions Pancake Breakfast fundraiser, helping serve meal at Pillars Adult and Family shelter. Lion Jim was a true Lion serving those in need and will be missed.

Where: American Legion Post 38, 3220 W College Ave, Appleton, WI
Cost: $12 for ages 13 and up, $6 for ages 6 to 12, Free for 5 and under
Menu: Buttermilk pancakes, potato pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, donut holes, applesauce, coffee, milk, juice
Proceeds go to Make-A-Wish of Wisconsin andother Grand Chute Lions charitable activities

Jim Leppla a long time of Grand Chute Lions club passed away on July 20th. Lion Jim headed the wheelchair project for years. Jim also volunteered at Pillars Adult and Family Shelter meals, along with fundraisers. Grand Chute Lions members wish to express our sympathy to Jim's family. Lion Jim will be missed as he added alot to our club meetings and events.

Join Grand Chute Lions for Brat and Burger Fry fundraiser.
When: June 6, 2026
Time 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Where: Ace Hardware, 500 E Northland Ave, Appleton, WI
Menu: Brats - $4, Burgers - $5, Cheeseburgers - $5.50, Lions cookies - $1, Soda-$1.50, Water-$1
Proceeds from fundraiser will support charitable causes supported by Grand Chute Lions. Here are a few of the major projects: provide meal at Pillars Adult and Family shelter monthly, Adopt-A-Family at Christmas, provide school supplies to 4 Appleton schools, Early Intervention Youth Christmas party, Lions Camp.

When: May 8th from 11 am to 3 pm
Where: JC Penney front entrance in the Fox River Mall, Appleton, Wi
Stop by after doing Mother's Day shopping. Lion John is ready to grill brat for you. Money raised will be used to fund charitable causes Grand Chute Lions support.

District 27B2 Governor Mike Milbach applied for a disaster relief grant from the Lions Clubs International Foundation. He purchased cleaning supplies for victims of the recent floods in New London and Fremont, WI. Flood clean up supplies included fans, brooms, garbage bags, buckets, bleach, gloves, shop vacs and sump pumps. The signage was provided by Karen Eike owner of W.G. Inc in Neenah. Lions in the photos include Wayne Heiman, Manawa Lions, Dan Knecht, Weyauwega/Fremont Lions, Mike Milbach and Dean Haas of the Grand Chute Lions.

Thank you to everyone who purchased roses to make Spring for Roses fundraiser a success. Money raised will be used by clubs to support their charitable causes. Special thank you to Memorial Florist for ordering and arranging delivery of roses. Also to Ace Hardware for allowing Grand Chute Lions to hold Cash and Carry rose sale at their store.
