Do you have a coop but no chickens at the moment, and would you like to take care of two sweet* chickens for four months this spring/summer? A local family will be out of town for work and is hoping to find someone who could take care of these ladies. They’ll pay for feed, bedding, etc. and you can enjoy the eggs! One chicken is a white leghorn, and the other is a black Australorp (see photo). If interested, please comment below and they’ll respond to you via private message. Thanks!
(*The Australorp is territorial and doesn't do well with other chickens besides her coop buddy, which is why they’re not looking to temporarily combine flocks. Both hens love hanging out with humans, though.)

Update: learned last night that these chickens have found a new home! 🙂 Thank you to all those who helped spread the word.

Ready to have your own small flock?
There is a family in Appleton that is looking to re-home their flock of 5 hens, including the coop and supplies. They are interested in some amount of money ($100 or something like that). They hope to re-home their whole flock together. Please email Kris at [email protected] for more info.

Let’s help Alderman Grade get the last hold-out community, Menasha, on board with an urban chicken policy.

I finally got my chickens!!! Thanks to everyone who supported me and never gave up!!! And thanks Tim from the Health Department for saving License #1 for me!!! He never doubted that I’d get my chickens!!!- Mary 'Modrzynski' Williams
