It’s the last day of August - are you ready to execute your holiday inventory plan?

Have you considered:

• what you want to sell in November and December?
• what materials you need to purchase to make that happen?
• when your scheduled workshop/studio time will be so you can make the magic happen without undue panic?

Now is the time to get that plan in place so the only thing you need to figure out last-minute is how you’ll enjoy showing your work that much more if you’re not stretched too thin.

Behind the scenes or in-process videos and photos are fantastic for teaching your audience how much work goes into a piece, and it can be a quick way to connect with your audience on social media without lengthy copy to write.

If you’re camera shy, you don’t have to show your face - it can just be a shot of your hands at work.

If you’re concerned about losing “the zone” or ruining a piece because you’re concentrating too hard on the recording instead of the creative work, try this:

Take some pics or video of going through the motions of a specific brush stroke or technique on a practice piece so you don’t have to worry about messing up while you’re recording. As you get better at being on camera, you can record progress of actual projects you’re making, so your audience can connect with the final product when you post it later.

When you buy something that you absolutely adore, or you gift something that transformed the recipient as they cried happy tears, don’t you want to shout out how grateful you are that you were able to find that special something?

Some of your customers would like to do that for you!

The next time that you hear a story from a customer about how much they loved a piece of your work or how much fun you made the process of ordering a customized work, ask them if you can post a quote on your website or in social media. Or give them a link to post a review for you.

This is literal promotional gold that you EARNED by creating incredible work and supporting it with authenticity.
