🟣 Monday: Full Pads
🟣 Tuesday: Helmet & Shoulder Pads & Shorts only
🟣 Wednesday: No Practice
🟣 Thursday: Full Pads

Varsity (4th and 5th) & 6th Grade

⏰ All practices begin at 5:30 PM.

Parents, a reminder that equipment pickup is tomorrow, Thursday, August 13, starting at 5:30 PM!

We also want to remind everyone about our weather cancellation policy for practices:

🌧️ Practice cancellations due to weather will be announced by 5:00 PM on the day of practice, unless there is a reasonable reason that requires us to make the decision earlier.

🏈 AKL FOOTBALL – WHAT DOES MY PLAYER NEED? 🏈

Football season is almost here! We want to make sure every player is ready to go for practices and games. Here’s a quick breakdown of what AKL provides and what parents need to purchase.

🟣 AKL PROVIDES:

✅ Helmet
✅ Shoulder Pads
✅ Mouthguard

🟡 PARENTS/PLAYERS NEED TO PROVIDE:

☑️ 7-Pad Football Girdle OR Full 7-Pad Compression Pants
Players need padding for the hips, thighs, tailbone and knees.

⚠️ IMPORTANT

The girdle/compression pants must include all 7 pads. Please make sure you are purchasing a football-specific padded girdle or compression pant and not standard compression pants.

Players should have all required equipment ready before the first full pad practice on 8/17/26.

A huge congratulations to all of our winners from Friday night’s Punt & Pass Competition! Our young Hornets showed off some impressive skills and had a blast on the field!

A special THANK YOU to Coach Wilcox and the Angola High School Football Team for allowing our AKL players to be part of the Purple & Gold Game. We truly appreciate your support of AKL and our young athletes!

🏈💜💛 AKL Purple & Gold Game – Punt, Pass & Compete! 💛💜🏈

Join us this Friday, August 7, at the Purple & Gold Game for some halftime fun!

All registered AKL football players are invited to participate in our Punt & Pass Competition during halftime.

🏈 Each participant will receive:
• 2 Passing Attempts
• 2 Punting Attempts

🏆 The player with the longest distance in each age division will be crowned the winner!

📍 Where to Meet: East End Zone close to the stands.
⏰ When: Gather 5–7 minutes before halftime ends so we can get everyone organized and ready to go.
🏈 Age Divisions : JV-2/3 Grade - V - 4/5 Grade - 6th Grade
