It was a beautiful, but chilly day, to participate in Trine University's Tailgate for Talent event.

We were able to reach out to many students to spread the word about Kiwanis and Circle K. It was a great starting point for returning a Circle K club to the campus of Trine University.

Thanks to club members Tom Stevens and Dave Sweigart for getting our location setup, Ken & Karen Shelton along with Bill Baidinger fore working the event, and a special thank you to Adam Reger of Midwest Essentials for providing the peppermint treats for the students.

Trail life USA is a Christ centered, boys only, outdoor adventure and character development organization for youth ages 5 to 17. Their mission is to train courageous young men who honor God, lead with integrity and serve others. Activities include camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing and skill-building adventures. They are divided into three groups. Woodlands Trail is for ages 5 to 10 and focuses on basic outdoor skills, character, and faith. Kelly Bailey from the YMCA delivered a very interesting program about the SAW (Safety Around Water) program. They had 50 students between the ages of 5-12 participate in the program. The students learned all about safe practices around water, be it pools, lakes, or larger bodies of water, as well as safe practices around piers and watercraft of all kinds. Thank you, Kelly, and the YMCA for offering this excellent program.
