Great things are happening at Alvin Sunrise Rotary!

We recently welcomed State Representative Jeff Barry, who shared a legislative forecast as we look ahead to the upcoming 90th Legislative Session.

We also celebrated another way Rotary is investing in our community—the Alvin Youth Livestock Arena Association trailer, which our Club was proud to help sponsor!

What a great meeting today at Alvin Sunrise Rotary! 🇺🇸

We were honored to welcome Past District Governor Bob Gebhard, who shared the incredible mission of Honor Flight Houston.

Honor Flight Houston provides veterans with a trip of a lifetime to Washington, D.C., where they visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice. One of the most meaningful parts comes when they return home — receiving the hero’s welcome that so many never received when they returned from serving our country.

Bob shared his own experience with Honor Flight and how he now helps coordinate the Welcome Home celebrations for returning veterans.

🦃 Alvin Sunrise Rotary is proud to support Operation Turkey!

This incredible Rotary District 5890 service project brings clubs together to provide Thanksgiving meals to families throughout the Houston area. This year’s goal is to raise $60,000 and provide 14,000 meals!

A special thank you to Mark McVey for joining us this morning and sharing his passion for Operation Turkey and the difference this project makes. We appreciate his dedication to making it happen year after year!

Sunrise Rotarians enjoyed an evening with District Governor Camille Hamilton and members of the Pearland and Alvin Noon Club.

Lori Candrian, Board Member, and Terry Oliver, Community Director of Westover Cove Apartments, stopped by the Alvin Sunrise Rotary Club to share a little about their mission to serve adults with cognitive disabilities.

Westover Cove provides a structured, supportive environment for adults who face cognitive challenges but are able to live independently.

They are currently raising funds to replace their aging van through donations, a raffle, and a BBQ Cook-Off on September 12.
