Alvin Sunrise Rotary Club The Alvin Sunrise Rotary Club is one of two Rotary Clubs in Alvin. The Alvin Sunrise Club was formned in 2011 and works to serve the community of Alvin.

THe Alvin Sunrise Rotary Club meets each Wednesay morning at 7:30. The meetings are held at Joe’s Barbeque in Alvin, TX.

Lori Candrian, Board Member, and Terry Oliver, Community Director of Westover Cove Apartments, stopped by the Alvin Sunrise Rotary Club to share a little about their mission to serve adults with cognitive disabilities.

Westover Cove provides a structured, supportive environment for adults who face cognitive challenges but are able to live independently.

They are currently raising funds to replace their aging van through donations, a raffle, and a BBQ Cook-Off on September 12.

It was a great morning at the Alvin Sunrise Rotary meeting as we welcomed Alvin ISD Superintendent Dr. Rhonda Mason!

Dr. Mason highlighted the incredible ways our community continues to support our students and schools. She also shared her compelling personal story and why education means so much to her. Her message was a powerful reminder of the difference every teacher and support staff member makes in the lives of our students.

We were also glad to have Pam Maples with Alvin ISD stop by to express her appreciation for the Club’s continued support of Operation Backpack. This effort makes a meaningful difference for students and families throughout our community.

We are fortunate to live in a community that believes in its schools, supports its educators, and invests in its students.

The future is bright in Alvin ISD!

Sunrise Rotary would like to give a big THANK YOU to Michele Nesrsta, Recreation Manager for the City of Alvin, for joining us and sharing all the exciting programs, activities, and opportunities available through Alvin Parks & Recreation!

And seriously… there is something for EVERYONE! 🙌

From homeschool programs and activities for teenagers to classes for active adults, seniors, families, and more, Parks & Recreation is helping our community stay active, connected, and having fun!

This morning, we were happy to welcome Lenny Garcia and show our support for the Beneeezy Purple Monkey Fun Run, happening Saturday, September 5!

The Alvin Sunrise Rotary was pleased to welcome Mike Fine, Chairman of the Brazoria County Fair Calf Scramble Committee.

Mike shared that this past year’s Calf Scramble Program awarded $40,500 in awards and scholarships that benefitted 47 youth. There are still calf sponsorship opportunities available, with sponsorship levels ranging from $50 to $1,800. Consider becoming a sponsor and investing in the future of Brazoria County youth.

🎒💙 Alvin Sunrise Rotary was proud to delivered 113 backpacks to Alvin Junior High today as part of Alvin ISD’s Operation Backpack.

4,000 backpacks were distributed to students across the district and we were honored to play a small part in helping local students start the school year prepared for success.

This is what community is all about—neighbors helping neighbors and working together to make a difference.

Service Above Self is more than a motto—it’s what we do.

This week, members of the Alvin Sunrise Rotary Club were proud to volunteer with Alvin ISD’s Operation Backpack, helping to get thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies ready for local students.

As another school year approaches, we’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Alvin ISD and so many dedicated volunteers to help ensure students start the year ready to learn. Together, we’re making a lasting impact—one backpack at a time. 🎒
