As we take a moment to reflect on Memorial Day, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

The Miss Anaheim Beautiful Scholarship Program was proud to be a part of Anaheim’s longstanding Memorial Day ceremony held at the historic Anaheim Cemetery.

Veterans, elected officials, and community members were in attendance to honor our fallen heroes. The tributes, remarks, and patriotic traditions served as a meaningful reminder of the significance of this day.

After the ceremony, fellowship continued at a community luncheon. Thank you to Anaheim’s American Legion Post 72, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3173, and the Anaheim Cemetery District for hosting this special event for our community.

We had so much fun volunteering at the annual “Anaheim Children’s Art Festival” at Pearson Park. This event was presented by the Muzeo and organized by Andrea Manes. Families enjoyed singing, dancing, musical performances, and free art activities provided by nonprofit organizations and community partners.

In collaboration with Anaheim Beautiful and Arts & Community, we helped lead a duck painting project. Children painted colorful rubber ducks to express their creativity. Festival attendees visited booths throughout the park collecting stamps in their “Passport to the Arts” before turning them in for a special prize.

This annual community gathering was a wonderful celebration of the arts in Anaheim. It was a joy to be a part of this special event!

Yesterday we volunteered at a pre-Mother’s Day painting fundraiser hosted by the Ebell Club of Anaheim. Unlike the club’s traditional evening “wine and paint” nights, this daytime event featured mimosas, gifts for the mothers in attendance, and a cheerful spring atmosphere. Guests spent the afternoon creating a whimsical spring painting featuring a gnome relaxing on a flower-covered swing.

Before guests arrived, we prepared each attendee’s space with canvases, paint palettes, brushes, napkins, and water cups. Throughout the event, we replenished supplies, changed out water cups, served light refreshments, and ensured each guest had everything they needed to enjoy a delightful afternoon. We were happy to be part of this creative fundraiser supporting the club and its programs.

Today we celebrate our own mothers and all the women who make a difference in our lives each day. Happy Mother’s Day!

Our Easter activities concluded at the 3rd Annual Easter “Eggstravaganza” hosted by Mondragon Family Market in partnership with “Wings of Kindness”. It brought the neighborhood together for a fun-filled evening of festive activities.

This event featured an Easter basket giveaway, photos with the Easter bunny, free food, fun surprises, a DJ, and community resources available for families. The girls assisted in handing out Easter “baskets” —thoughtfully prepared backpacks filled with treats for all of the children.

Through one of its “Community Pride” outreach programs, Anaheim Beautiful helped bring a creative element to the event. In collaboration with Jack Knight and “Arts & Community”, over 300 styrofoam Easter eggs were painted! It was a great opportunity to connect with the community and the perfect way to be part of such a special event.

The Miss Anaheim Beautiful Scholarship Program enjoyed being part of Easter celebrations throughout the community and the opportunity to spread joy to so many families!

Our Easter celebrations continued with a unique and educational experience as the girls took a break from volunteering to focus on developing new skills.

During a private painting class led by Jack Knight, they learned foundational techniques including brushstrokes, color mixing, and acrylic painting methods. As part of the seasonal theme, the girls each created an Easter bunny painting, bringing their own unique masterpiece to life.

With his easygoing teaching style and lighthearted approach, the class was both engaging and fun while encouraging the girls to step outside of their comfort zones and explore their creativity in a new way. Thank you Jack for sharing your time and talent!

The Miss Anaheim Beautiful Scholarship Program had a great time volunteering at the Easter celebration hosted by the Anaheim United Methodist Church. This free community gathering brought everyone together for a morning of connection and fun, including a delicious breakfast, an egg hunt, a petting zoo, photos with the Easter Bunny, and a variety of craft activities. The girls provided face painting for children of all ages, with even a few adults joining in. They also enjoyed spending time with the animals and connecting with everyone who attended. It was a privilege to be included in this festive celebration!

Black History Month is a time to celebrate, reflect, and honor culture, contributions, and community.

We were proud to begin the month by participating in the 46th Annual Orange County Heritage Council’s Black History Parade and Cultural Faire.

Miss Anaheim Beautiful 2025–2026, Sophia Prudencio, represented our program in the parade. She met performers and participants before the festivities began and joined them in the lively procession down the parade route. It was filled with spectators cheering and celebrating together, including her court, who were supporting her and joining in some pictures too.

The Cultural Faire featured a variety of areas offering food, resources, entertainment, and activities. Located in the center of the Youth Village, the Miss Anaheim Beautiful Scholarship Program Court was invited to lead games including a hula hoop challenge, jump rope, co****le, and ring toss. They welcomed families to the area and spent time taking photos and connecting with new friends throughout the celebration — because everyone loves a princess!

“Anaheim Beautiful” and “Arts & Community” partnered to host a heart-painting activity as part of our Community Pride Outreach Program. Youth and adult volunteers helped participants get creative painting wooden hearts to take home.

As Black History Month comes to a close, we will carry forward the sense of unity and celebration that made this day so special.
