Triangle is a social Greek Fraternity, founded in 1907, whose membership is major-specific for those men that are pursuing a degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Science fields. Our men play leading roles on campus, in our community, and have an impact on others that remain their entire lives. Through our Philanthropic work, Intramural Sports participation, academics, campus/community involvement, and member development, we strive to be outstanding.

🏆 CHAPTER OF THE YEAR 🔺 At our National Convention in Denver, we were fortunate to see our chapter, undergraduates and Alumni honored by Triangle Comm including:

- Chapter of the Year
- Outstanding Philanthropy and Community Service
- 100 Member Milestone Award
- Nolan Zimmerman for President of the Year
- Tanner Post for the Living Your Values Award
- Cullen ONeil for Senior of the Year
- Alumnus Dexter Duhan inducted to the Triangle Wall of Fame
- Alumni Bob Balsbaugh and Mike Goeser receiving their Donor Recognition Jackets
- Alumnus John Pritchard as the keynote speaker for the CEO Symposium

Next up on our Convention Recap, we are excited to feature Junior Tanner Post, recipient of the Living Your Values Award for our national organization! This award has been established to recognize the active or alumnus who best exemplifies Triangle’s values and mission through their day-to-day actions.

Tanner has led our chapter on Exec as our VP of Academics and on the stage in Yell Like Hell and Lip Sync as our Co-Chair! Outside of Triangle, Tanner serves on the Executive Board for Engineering Leaders of Tomorrow with the Iowa State University - College of Engineering.

In his application, Tanner’s nominator shared, “Tanner is very disciplined in staying true to his character. When he does stray from his ideals, he admits it, and works to be better. He holds this standard for the people in his life as well. There have been many instances where I falter, and he is the one who reminds me of who I strive to be.”

UIFI 2026 🤝 This summer, 3 of our members attended the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute in Indianapolis and Dallas with AFLV 📣 UIFI allows fraternity and sorority members to come together to challenge perspectives, build meaningful relationships, and grow as leaders. We’re excited to see the ideas our Brothers bring back to campus with them this Fall!

At Triangle Fraternity’s 2026 National Convention, we were honored to bring home awards for our work this past year, and are excited to highlight these accolades! First up, we are honored to share that Triangle’s Chapter President of the Year was awarded to Nolan Zimmerman🏆

Nolan joined Triangle in the Fall of 2022 and was an involved member of the Sorority and Fraternity Community - Iowa State University. He served our Chapter as Summer Recruitment Chair, Philanthropy Chair, Yell Like Hell Co-Chair, and in 2025 as our President. In addition to his involvement in Triangle, he served on the Engineering Leaders of Tomorrow Conference Executive Board for Iowa State University - College of Engineering as well as a Peer Mentor for the national organization.

The 2026 Executive Board shared more about Nolan: “Under Nolan’s leadership, we passed the threshold of 100 members, raised record amounts of money for our philanthropy, and strengthened our academic expectations for members. Nolan served as our President as a Junior/Senior, providing an older perspective with more experience, which was incredibly beneficial for the Executive Team at large. Nolan won’t ask you to do anything he isn’t willing to do himself. If there’s a service event at 8 AM that we need members to attend, he will be there. If there was an important Alumni or stakeholder event we needed a presence at, he would drive there and represent Triangle. When it was time to mulch the yard, Nolan was outside scooping mulch and directing others how they could help. The concept of motivating the middle is something that Iowa State pushes heavily in their programming. We don’t think Nolan focused on motivating the middle, he focused on engaging every single member along the way, and elevating them.”

Thank you, Nolan, for your commitment to our chapter and advancing Triangle across the nation. We are so grateful for all you have done for us!

“I’m Tanner, and I’m extremely excited to be serving as Triangle’s New Member Educator this coming fall. I’ve been a member for 4 semesters now and have had so many wonderful opportunities and experiences while in Triangle. I can’t wait to help the new members get plugged into all the ways we help each other grow, succeed and enjoy our time together. I’m most excited to introduce the new members to all of our campus and fraternity traditions and get them passionate about participating and finding ways to have fun and be involved. During his time in Triangle, Max has been our Yell Like Hell and Lip Sync Co-Chair, Assistant House Manager, Greek Week GenCo, and serves on Iowa State University IFC J-Board🔺 Max joined Triangle to be a part of an organization that is dedicated to academics while also knowing how to have fun.
