We have exciting news!!! 🎉

Our very own Amanda McIntosh has officially joined our team full time as our Finance, Operations & Stewardship Manager! 🥳

We are so excited to have Amanda bringing her talents, passion, and expertise to the team in this new capacity. We’re incredibly grateful for her willingness to step into this role and support our team in such a meaningful way. We can’t wait to see all that she’ll bring to our work and our mission!

This time, we would like to introduce you to our incredible Executive Director, Sarena Carpenter💛

“Hi, I’m Sarena! I’m the kind of person who gets excited about learning something new, turning big ideas into reality, and helping others discover strengths they didn’t know they had.

As Executive Director of Amarillo Angels, I have the privilege of leading an incredible team that’s making a lasting difference for children, youth, and families experiencing foster care across the Texas Panhandle. I believe the best work happens when people feel supported, empowered, and connected to a shared purpose.

When I’m not at work, you’ll probably find me spending time with my family, tackling a DIY project, trying out a new gadget, learning a new skill, or convincing myself I definitely don’t need another hobby. I’m naturally curious and love finding creative ways to make a positive impact, both at work and at home.”

We wouldn’t be who we are without the work of Sarena and we are so thankful that she leads our team!🫶

Look what we've woven together. ❤️

One person gave.

One person served.

One person encouraged.

One person connected.

One person decided to show up.

And then another person did the same.

And another.

And another.

What started as one thread became something much bigger than any one of us could have created alone.

That's the beauty of community.

That's the legacy Gwen left with us.

Not everyone can do everything, but one person can do something.

✏️ Back to School with Amarillo Angels 🎒

Our Amarillo Angels Back to School Event was filled with so much joy, laughter, and community! 💙 This day was about more than backpacks and school supplies—it was about helping youth in foster care start the school year feeling prepared, confident, and cared for. 📚✏️ Brand-new supplies can bring a sense of normalcy and belonging during a time of uncertainty.

It’s a simple way of saying, “You matter. You belong here. We believe in you, and we’re cheering you on.” 🫶

We are incredibly grateful to every volunteer, sponsor, vendor, and community member who helped make this day possible. Your generosity helped fill more than backpacks — you helped fill them with confidence, encouragement, and a reminder that our community is behind them. What a special day!✨
