It was great having Eric Dennis stop by the El Barrio Lions Club booth during the 8th Annual Back to School Barrio Bash last weekend at El Alamo Park!

Eric is an award-winning 6th-grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher at Travis 6th Grade Campus in Amarillo ISD and a published children’s book author.

On the first day of school, the El Barrio Lions Club donated new backpacks for students in need at Amarillo's James Bowie Middle School.

A special thank you to David Martinez for helping make sure these backpacks get into the hands of students who need them.

Back To School Barrio Bash Horseshoe Tournament & School supply drive is THIS WEEKEND!!!!

The biggest event of the year in the Barrio, and we’ll be there! Come out to El Alamo Park this Sunday and join us for a great day of community, fun, and giving back to our local students!

It’s a busy weekend across the Texas Panhandle! 🎶🌾 Check out two great community events happening August 15th & 16th.

WoodyFest West in Pampa takes place Saturday, August 15, from 2–11 PM, featuring live music, axe throwing, golf simulators, food trucks, craft beer, and more, all supporting the Woody Guthrie Folk Music Center.

Then on Sunday, August 16tg, head to Amarillo for the 8th Annual Back to School Barrio Bash Horseshoe Tournament & School Supply Drive at El Alamo Park. Enjoy a day of family fun while giving back to local children, with backpacks and school supplies distributed at 2 PM while supplies last.

Today, members of the El Barrio Leo Club rolled up their sleeves to help stuff backpacks for the upcoming 8th Annual Back to School Barrio Bash at El Alamo Park. Our Leo Club brings together young leaders, ages 13–17, from both Caprock High School and Palo Duro High School, who are committed to making a difference through service. Thank you to these amazing students for giving back to our community! 📚🎒💙💛🦁
