🐠 See the fishes of the Flint Hills photographed in their natural habitat. Garold Sneegas photographs fish species in their home streams: among rocky creek beds, underwater plant life, and interacting with other fish. “You can capture their peak spawning colors and natural behaviors in a way that cannot be duplicated in an aquarium,” he shares in a story on Volland’s website.

Only in natural settings - like his work from Illinois Creek, just a few miles from Volland - could Garold photograph life as it organically happens.

“You may be lucky and stumble onto this situation in a matter of minutes, or you may have to spend hours submerged in 50-degree water monitoring an area.”

Come see the special moments Garold captured over his time photographing in the Flint Hills... no water shoes required.
