⭐️WABAUNSEE COUNTY FAIR UPDATE AND FUNDRAISING⭐️
The Wabaunsee County Fairgrounds continue to undergo a beautiful transformation! Since 2019, the renovation project has touched 7 buildings and has revitalized the fairgrounds into an important community epicenter for Wabaunsee County. Thank you to our donors and volunteers for making everything the Fair Association does possible.
In 2024 and 2025, we successfully renovated the rodeo arena and grounds, expanded electrical service to the beef barn, installed a new handicap accessible door and upgraded to LED lighting in the Marlow-Lietz exhibit building! We are quite proud to share that a community impact study has been done on the grounds, and we now annually host between 13,000 and 15,000 people every year! Your help with the renovation has had a marked impact on Wabaunsee County!
This year we are excited to share an unexpected but welcome opportunity - expansion of the fairgrounds. Through a partnership with Community Care Ministries, the grounds have now expanded by two city lots to the southwest, with the addition of the upstairs for the fair. The addition will ultimately provide much needed exhibit space for our static projects, additional fair restrooms, fair administration space, and will function year around as a meeting space for a variety of civic and private groups. We are evaluating modifying this space to fit our needs. CCM will continue to operate out of the basement.
We are again seeking sponsors in the form of our “Clover Brands”. Sponsorship of a Clover helps with fairground improvement and maintenance, directly funds a portion of the fair, and awards 4-H seniors who have completed 10 years of membership a scholarship to celebrate their efforts with the fair. Clovers are annually renewed and are recognized in KanEquip Arena with a name plate and a personalized message in the next fair book. We also continue to seek sign sponsors for KanEquip Arena and the Farm Bureau Rodeo Arena as well as a building sponsor for the new fair administration building. Larger donations have the ability to share their sponsorship over multiple years.
To make those tax-deductible donations go even further, please consider donating during the Kansas Rural Communities Match Event November 1st-15th. Information on the event is enclosed. We will see you at the Wabaunsee County Fair July 25-28, 2026!
Best,
