Contact your members of Congress today and tell them: vote NO on H.R. 9237, the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act.

They said they wouldn’t cut veterans’ benefits.

But the VFW and many other Veterans Service Organizations oppose this legislation because it would do exactly that.

H.R. 9237 would use cuts to future veterans’ disability compensation, including for conditions like tinnitus and sleep apnea, to help pay for other veterans’ benefits.
That is not how a grateful nation honors its promises.

According to the VFW, the proposal could reduce compensation by roughly $57 billion over 10 years and affect up to 1.5 million veterans.

As VFW National Commander Carol Whitmore said: “A grateful nation pays its debts to veterans; it does not send them the invoice.”

Tell Congress to stand with the VFW, stand with veterans, and vote NO on H.R. 9237.

Our position is simple:

We support the Major Richard Star Act.
We support strengthening programs and services for veterans.
We oppose paying for those priorities by reducing earned disability compensation for future veterans.
Veterans should not be asked to pay for veterans' benefits.

🚨 Action Alert

They said they wouldn't cut veterans' benefits.

The Take Care of America's Veterans Act does exactly that.

$57 billion. 1.5 million veterans. Tinnitus. Sleep apnea. Conditions earned in combat. Stripped from future veterans to pay for other veterans' benefits.

VFW National Commander Carol Whitmore: "A grateful nation pays its debts to veterans; it does not send them the invoice."

The proposal would fund combat veteran disability and retirement pay while changing disability ratings for sleep apnea and tinnitus.
