It is almost that time of the year. Akron Public Library Book and Bake Sale is coming up this September!

Join us September 24th through the 26th. We will have plenty of baked goods, and many great reads! On the 24th and 25th we will start at 9 a.m. and finish at 6 p.m. and on the 26th we will start at 9 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.

Our prices range from:
1 to 2 books for $1
2 to 4 books for $2
Fill a grocery bag for $7
Fill a tote bag for $10
Fill a box for $15

Today is the day we switch over to Hoopla!
Hoopla will bring new and amazing eBooks and audiobooks. Any title that is marked "available" is able to be checked out right away, but you can place holds on items that are currently checked out.

You can sign up at HooplaDigital.com or search Hoopla in the app store. You will sign up with your library card.

On August 18th we will have our transition from CloudLibrary to Hoopla. Your last day to read/listen from CloudLibrary will be August 17th. You will need to find materials again on Hoopla.

📚 Akron Public Library is hiring Substitute Librarians!

Looking for friendly, reliable people to help keep the library running smoothly. This is a temporary/on-call position — shifts vary and may cover a lunch break or a full shift, depending on need. We're happy to have more than one substitute on our list, so don't hesitate to apply even if you've seen this post before!

💵 Pay: $15.16/hour (Colorado minimum wage)
No benefits are offered with this position.

What you'll do:

Provide welcoming, helpful service to our patrons
Check items in and out, answer questions, and help with basic library tasks
Maintain patron privacy and confidentiality in accordance with library and state privacy laws
Help keep the library a great place for our community

What we're looking for:

A friendly, dependable person who enjoys working with people of all ages
Comfortable learning new systems and following library policies and procedures
Library or customer service experience helpful, but not required — we'll train the right person!
