Some mornings change lives. September 9 is one of them. 💚

On September 9, we’ll gather at Firestone Country Club for the OPEN Your Heart Breakfast, a morning centered on faith, hope and the belief that every family deserves a pathway forward.

We still have a handful of sponsorship opportunities available, but the deadline to be included in the breakfast program is September 1.

🚗 Car Seat Distribution Event

Is your child in need of a car seat? Safe Mobility Project is partnering with OPEN M Ministry to provide car seats to eligible Summit County families.

📅 Friday, November 13, 2026
⏰ 1–3 PM
📍 OPEN M Ministry, 941 Princeton Street, Akron, OH 44311

Eligibility requirements:
• Summit County resident who is a parent or legal guardian
• Benefit eligible through WIC, Medicaid or SNAP
• This event is for Summit County families only

📞 Appointments are required. To check eligibility and schedule an appointment, contact Sarah at 330-543-1595 by October 30, 2026.

🚨 Walk-ins will not be accepted.

18,402 POUNDS OF FOOD. 💜

That's how much food we distributed at this month's Mountain of Food last Friday and pretty much all of it found its way to our neighbors.

This month we served:

🥕 245 families
✨ 66 new families
🩷 82 feminine supply distributions
🩺 41 adult incontinence supply distributions
🍼 74 baby diaper distributions
📦 18,402 lbs. of food

Behind every number is a person, a family and a neighbor who needed a little extra support.

We are so grateful to our partners at Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and Project MKC and to our incredible volunteers, including OPEN M board member Jill Sellers with Akron Community Foundation, BVU, Medical Mutual, Mogadore United Methodist Church, Summit County Public Health, Hudson United Methodist Church, Mi Iglesia Church, The Bath Church, United Church Of Christ and Good Place Holdings.

Thank you for showing up for our community and helping make sure good food gets into the hands of the people who need it most. 💜
