[𝐓𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐢𝐡𝐚 𝐨𝐤𝐨𝐬] In the last week of October, our Food Security Program team conducted information-sharing and discussion sessions with beneficiaries in Hlalmeta, Aslimhati, and Tarmausoru–Matata to raise awareness of the potential impacts of El Niño and changing climate conditions in Timor-Leste. These activities served as an early warning and encouraged families to take preventive measures to protect their livelihoods. The discussions covered caring for water sources and managing water resources responsibly, avoiding land burning and tree cutting, protecting food supplies and seeds, caring for livestock, and safeguarding family health. Through these sessions, we continue to share important information to help communities prepare for climate-related challenges and protect their families’ well-being.

In October, our Feeding Program team held a cooking demonstration with mothers in the Labdodon community, showing them how to prepare nutritious meals using locally available ingredients. Through this hands-on activity, the mothers learned practical ways to prepare healthy food for their children at home, helping support their children’s growth.

[𝙏𝙚𝙩𝙪𝙢 𝙞𝙝𝙖 𝙤𝙠𝙤𝙨] Every child deserves a healthy start in life, and every family deserves support along the way. On Friday, October 23, 2026, our CSDO team carried out the First 1,000 Days of Life program in Fatuglana, re-screening children under two years old and implementing the FINI Project (Tein Matenek) through nutrition education and a joint cooking practice with six amazing mothers. On Tuesday, October 27, the team continued its community engagement through house-to-house family visits in Aldeia Terlau, reaching 11 households. Through these activities, we continue to accompany families and promote better nutrition, healthy child development, and family well-being.

In the third week of October, our WASH team delivered equipment to the community of Gugleur, Maubara, to support their efforts to build a clean water tank. With the necessary equipment, the community can work together more effectively to complete the construction and make clean water accessible to their families in the near future.

Seeing the children eagerly waiting for their food, with smiles on their faces and excitement in their eyes, fills our hearts with joy. Their happiness reminds us why these simple moments of sharing food and care are so meaningful. We continue to prepare and deliver healthy meals to support the children’s growth and well-being, bringing not only food but also moments of happiness and care.

In the second week of October, our CNFVM – Railaco team carried out mobile clinic activities in several communities. On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the team brought healthcare services to four communities: Tocoluli, Caitarahei, Cocoa, and Lebadodon. The following day, Thursday, October 15, the team continued its activities in Ermeta and Lebaloa. Our team continues to bring healthcare services closer to communities in need, helping improve access to basic healthcare for those who may have difficulty reaching health facilities.

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, the CSDO team continued its commitment to bringing healthcare closer to communities with limited access to health services. The mobile clinic activity was held in Maubara Ulun, serving a total of 15 people. Through this activity, we not only provided healthcare services but also continued to build trust and hope, affirming that healthcare is a right for everyone.
