Civil Society Capacity in Human Rights Monitoring in Tajikistan
The trainings took place on September 30- October 1 in Khujand and October 2-3 in Dushanbe under the European Union-funded project “Enhancing Civil Society and the State’s Capacities on Accountability and Torture Prevention through Human Rights Initiatives in Tajikistan.”
This approach provides deeper insights into how policies and measures impact various population groups. The application of modern data collection tools is particularly critical for monitoring long-term human rights policy documents. Reliable data, enriched with insights from people’s lived experiences, facilitates a more objective assessment of progress, helps identify ongoing challenges, and supports the development of evidence-based recommendations to further enhance human rights protection mechanisms. Hands-on practical work served as a key component of the trainings.
Participants explored the core functionality and methodology of Sprockler and initiated the development of their own digital surveys for future data collection. Civil society organizations will apply the acquired knowledge and tools to monitor specific areas within the National Human Rights Strategy through 2038. European Union in Tajikistan
