The Patriotic Empowerment Network Sierra Leone (P.E.N-SiL) successfully participated as a partner in the Jogging for Adolescents and Youth in Health and Development Advocacy event held on 4th April 2026 at Aberdeen Beach, Freetown. The initiative brought together young people, development partners, and advocacy groups with a shared goal of promoting healthy lifestyles and raising awareness on key health issues affecting adolescents and youth.

The event commenced with a vibrant jogging session, symbolizing collective action towards improved physical and mental well-being. This was followed by a series of engaging activities including a football comic match, music performances, interview sessions, and sensitization sessions. These activities created an interactive platform for young people to learn, connect, and actively participate in health advocacy.

As a partner, PEN-SiL played a key role in supporting the engagement and amplifying awareness around sexual and reproductive health, youth empowerment, and preventive healthcare practices. Our presence contributed to strengthening partnerships and reinforcing our commitment to promoting youth-led development initiatives across Sierra Leone.

The event recorded strong participation from youths and stakeholders, reflecting a growing interest in health-focused advocacy and community-driven solutions. It also provided an opportunity for PEN-SiL to network with like-minded organizations and explore future collaborations aimed at improving the well-being of young people.

Our Team in Port Loko is always with the district stakeholders fully involved in development and advocacy efforts, this International Women’s Day activities are no exception. Miss Hawanatu Wenday Kamara, Secretary General, alongside District Focal Point, Amb. Munirr Sahid Kamara and the entire members are doing the magic.

From excitements and smiling for minutes watching the Logo of PEN SiL along with the biggest of names, to championing the course of sensitization and engagements, on and offline, this is something satisfying I must say.

Today, Patriotic Empowerment Network Sierra Leone (PEN-SiL) joined other Stakeholders in an Engagement Meeting on the Annual Review of the ICPD Commitment for Sierra Leone.

The session brought together key players from different sectors to reflect on the progress made and the challenges surrounding the eleven (11) ICPD Commitment, which focuses on strengthening partnerships, accountability, and inclusive participation in advancing reproductive health, gender equality, and youth empowerment in Sierra Leone. These commitments were made last year 2024, banking from previous efforts.

During the discussions, participants shared their insights and recommendations on how to ensure that the ICPD goals continue to align with our national priorities and the aspirations of our people especially young women whose voices are central to achieving sustainable development.
