Economic Association of Sierra Leone EASL Societies everywhere in the world devise solutions to better their means of existence.

Robust solutions emanate from sonorous policies and effective policy framework can engender economic growth. BACKGROUND

Societies everywhere in the world devise solutions to better their means of existence. Sound economic management reform is a key ingredient of a nation’s strategy in alleviating poverty. Thorough research in tandem with economic management requires a comprehensive knowledge of

the domestic as well as the international economy. Thus, the need for an association that would serve as a vanguard in researching into the economic environment of Sierra Leone and guide policy decision is long overdue. Given this backdrop, the Economic Association of Sierra Leone is a non-profit making oriented and apolitical professional association without nationalistic bias hinge with the responsibility of unearthing solutions to social and economic problems using economic tools. Given the dire need for an economic association that would serve as a spring board in guiding policy makers; it is of firm conviction that this association would not only contribute immensely towards the conduct of both fiscal and monetary policies in Sierra Leone but would also explore the possibility through research in trying to bring to light critical economic issues of greater concern. The Association shall focus on economic matters of public concern and its main object shall be to promote socio-economic research that aim at a unification of the theoretical- quantitative and empirical-quantitative approach to economic and social problems. Any activity which promises ultimately to further such unification of theoretical and factual studies in economics shall be within the sphere of interest of the Association. VISION
To become the national centre of excellence in research provoking informed judgement on the ups and downs of the Sierra Leonean Economy. MISSION
To actively engage in economic and social research leading to the general advancement of the Sierra Leonean Economy.
