Strengthening Our Community, One Step at a Time! 💪🇸🇬

Our committee members recently attended the CCOC (Community Crisis Operations Committee) Modular Training, organized in partnership with the People’s Association and SGSecure!

Equipping ourselves with the right skills and mindset is essential to keeping our community safe, resilient, and prepared for emergencies.

💡 Key Takeaways:
-Enhanced Crisis Readiness: Understanding operational coordination and swift response during community incidents or crises.

-Stay Alert & Stay United: Upholding vigilance and building cohesive networks to support our residents effectively when it matters most.

-Preparedness Starts with Us: Practical emergency preparedness steps to safeguard our neighbourhoods and build lasting social resilience.

For your information

[Operationalisation and Islandwide Testing of SG Alert on 10 May]

In April 2026, SCDF announced the implementation of SG Alert, a mass emergency alert system that broadcasts time-sensitive emergency alerts to all mobile devices islandwide or within specific geographical zones. This system will be rolled out in phases, beginning with public testing for Singtel network users.

At 𝟭𝟮𝗽𝗺 on 𝟭𝟬 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, SCDF will conduct island-wide testing of SG Alert for Singtel users. Mobile phones will need to be updated with the latest Apple or Google Android operating system (iOS 26.4 or OS 12, with the latest Google Play system update) to receive the alert. No internet connection, application download or account registration is required.

Users will receive a pop-up notification with the header ‘SG Alert’, accompanied by an alert tone and a vibration pattern. The alert will also bypass the phone’s “Do Not Disturb” or silent mode settings.

For more information about the SG Alert, please visit go.gov.sg/sgalert.

❤️ Small Acts, Big Impact: Punggol Community Comes Together to Save Lives!**
There is no better way to support our community than by giving the gift of life. 🌟
Last Saturday, Fo Guan Shan Singapore collaborate with the Punggol Coast Community Emergency and Engagement at (Bloodbank @ One Punggol) for a successful blood donation drive!

It was inspiring to see so many Punggol Neighbors, Fo Guan Shan Volunteers and Grassroots Leaders rolling up their sleeves—from first-time donors to those who have been giving for over a decade. Every single donation helps stabilize our local blood supply and provides a lifeline to patients in need. Their contributions go a long way in helping us engage, connect and give back to our residents in meaningful ways.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to participate and to the healthcare staff who make these vital contributions possible. Let’s keep looking out for one another and spreading hope, one drop at a time! 🩸✨
