The RAISE the BAR campaign aims to strengthen awareness of anti-racist practices, promote respectful communication, and support equity within healthcare environments. The completed materials are expected to serve as practical tools for healthcare organizations, educational institutions, and communities seeking to advance inclusion and cultural understanding.

Promoting Antiracism in Healthcare in Finland and Europe

The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL)and the Finnish Government are conducting a webinar on “Antiracism Work in the Healthcare Sector”.

As part of the webinar, findings from Joint Action on Cardiovascular Diseases and Diabetes (JACARDI) will also be presented. JACARDI is a European Union Joint Action supporting European countries in reducing the burden of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes at both the individual and healthcare-system levels.

The Filipino Nurses Association in the Nordic Region will reveal its final antiracism materials and videos developed from the RAISE the BAR project funded by the Finnish Government.

These resources will be made publicly accessible and free to use, providing practical materials that can be utilized by: hospitals, nursing homes, home care services and other social and healthcare organisations.

The goal is to support healthcare workplaces in promoting equality, inclusion, respect, and a safe environment for everyone, regardless of background or ethnicity.

We are proud to contribute to this important work in a national level and to make these resources available to healthcare professionals across Europe and beyond.
