A Gift of Life, A Legacy of Compassion: Las Damas de Rizal Successfully Holds 2nd Blood Donation Drive in Riyadh

In a remarkable display of Bayanihan, compassion, and solidarity, the Las Damas de Rizal – Central Region, Saudi Arabia (LDR-CRSA) successfully conducted its 2nd Blood Donation Drive, themed "Give Blood, Give Love, Give Hope,” on October 9, 2026, at King Fahad Medical City (KFMC), Riyadh.
Following the success of its first campaign in February 2026, the initiative once again brought together approximately 60 generous blood donors, demonstrating the unwavering commitment of the Filipino community to saving lives and serving humanity.
The humanitarian initiative was organized in collaboration with the Knights of Rizal (KOR) and Kabataang Pangarap ni Rizal (KAPARIZ), Central Region Chapters, Saudi Arabia, with the invaluable support of the following Filipino community organizations:

* Association of Filipino Plumbing Engineers in KSA (AFPEK)
* Filipino Dentists in KSA
* Filipino Nurses in Arabia (FINA) – Riyadh Chapter
* Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. – Central Region Chapter, KSA
* Jack Mix Martial Arts Club & Fitness
* Kabataang Pangarap ni Rizal (KAPARIZ) – CRC, KSA
* Kabayan Riyadh Pickle Ball
* King Tiger Taekwondo Association (KTTA)

The occasion was honored by the presence of Colonel Virgilio V. Viloria, Police Attaché of the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia, and fresh from the Philippines, Ms. Raya Mae B. Manalo, who was just appointed as Administrative Staff of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), Riyadh
Their presence reaffirmed the importance of strong partnerships between Philippine government institutions and Filipino community organizations in advancing meaningful humanitarian initiatives.
The campaign was spearheaded by Lady Lilith Malawanda, Public Relations Officer of LDR-CRSA and Event Committee Chairwoman, whose dedication, together with the organizing committee, volunteers, partner organizations, and KFMC Blood Bank personnel, contributed significantly to its success.
The initiative also supports the humanitarian vision behind the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's national blood donation campaign championed by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reflecting the Filipino community's gratitude and commitment to giving back to the Kingdom they proudly call their second home.
Las Damas de Rizal extends its profound gratitude to the Philippine Embassy, MWO Riyadh, KFMC, all participating Filipino organizations, volunteers, and generous blood donors for their continued trust, warmth, and unwavering support.
Inspired by the ideals of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, this initiative reminds us that patriotism knows no borders and that true leadership finds its greatest purpose in serving others.
Beyond the approximately 60 donors are countless stories of courage, compassion, and renewed hope. Because somewhere, someone is praying for another chance at life—and together, we have helped make that chance possible.
