The Ratiu Democracy Centre

The Ratiu Democracy Centre Established in 2004 in Turda with the support of the Ratiu Family Charitable Foundation.

The Rațiu Democracy Centre is a non-governmental organisation established in Turda in 2004, to continue the legacy and lifetime commitment to democracy of Ion Rațiu (1917-2000), currently focusing on the areas of legal education and youth participation. It is located in the old centre of the town, in the Rațiu Compound, the former residence of the family, featuring a collection of historical buildings.

Congratulations Raluca Cristea!

Journalist Raluca Cristea, one of the young participants in the Rațiu Forum Journalism Mentorship Program for 2025 and 2026, won second place in the "Journalistic Debut" category for her investigative piece - https://www.scoala9.ro/drum-spre-scoala-cu-oprire-la-pariuri-sportive/2241 - an award announced on Thursday during the Superscrieri Gala event.

📖 𝑅𝑜𝑚𝑎̂𝑛𝑖𝑎 𝑑𝑒 𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑎̆𝑧𝑖. 𝐿𝑜𝑐𝑢𝑙 𝑒𝑖 𝑖̂𝑛 𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑎𝑡̦𝑖𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑎𝑙𝑒 - O nouă carte a lui Ion Rațiu, lansată la Salonului Internațional de Carte Bookfest, Romexpo, Pavilion B2, la Scena Arca, loc sâmbătă, 6 iunie 2026, de la ora 16:00.

Cartea readuce în atenția publicului reflecțiile vizionare ale lui Ion Rațiu privind poziționarea României în contextul internațional al acelor ani. Apariția acestei lucrări explică și motivul pentru care Ion Rațiu a fost o țintă constantă a regimului comunist. Începând cu anul 1974, când autoritățile de la București au aflat că textul a fost finalizat, Securitatea a declanșat prin intermediul Direcției de Informații Externe una dintre cele mai complexe și stăruitoare operațiuni de monitorizare și sabotaj.

Dezbaterea din jurul cărții va reuni personalități marcante ale spațiului public și academic. La eveniment vor lua cuvântul:
• Nicolae C. Rațiu – președintele Fundației Rațiu și al Ratiu Democracy Centre
• Dennis Deletant – reputat istoric și specialist în istoria României
• Stejărel Olaru – cunoscut istoric și politolog, editorul mai multor lucrări ale lui Ion Rațiu, printre care și primele cinci volume ale Jurnalului său
• Samuel Marușca – consilier în cadrul Guvernului Marii Britanii, istoric și cercetător al University of London
Discuția va fi moderată de Otniel-Laurean Vereș, directorul editurii Ratio et Revelatio.
