Journalist Raluca Cristea, one of the young participants in the Rațiu Forum Journalism Mentorship Program for 2025 and 2026, won second place in the "Journalistic Debut" category for her investigative piece - https://www.scoala9.ro/drum-spre-scoala-cu-oprire-la-pariuri-sportive/2241 - an award announced on Thursday during the Superscrieri Gala event.

⏰Reminder: Call for Papers – 2026 Ratiu Forum Christopher Coker History Research Prize

The application period is now well underway!

We warmly encourage MA and PhD students in History, Law, Political Science, European Studies, and related fields to submit their abstracts for one of the following topics:

🔹 Democratic Transition and Authoritarian Temptation in Central and South-Eastern Europe
🔹 Security, Democracy, and the Return of War in Europe’s Borderlands
🔹 Teaching Difficult Pasts in Divided Societies

📌 Deadline for 250-word research proposals: June 5th, 2026

The prize includes a €400 scholarship, publication opportunities, and participation in the Ratiu Forum Dialogues for Democracy (Turda, September 2026).

"Contemporary Romania: Her Place in World Affairs". A new book by Ion Rațiu, translated into Romanian, will be launched at the Bookfest International Book Fair, Romexpo, Pavilion B2, on the Arca Stage, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.

The discussion surrounding the book will bring together prominent figures from the public and academic spheres. The following speakers will address the event:
• Nicolae C. Rațiu – President of the Rațiu Foundation and the Ratiu Democracy Centre
• Dennis Deletant – renowned historian and specialist in Romanian history
• Stejărel Olaru – a well-known historian and political scientist, editor of several works by Ion Rațiu, including the first five volumes of his Diary
• Samuel Marușca – advisor to the British Government, historian and researcher at the University of London.

The discussion will be moderated by Otniel-Laurean Vereș, director of the Ratio et Revelatio publishing house.
