IOM Romania announces the start of project “InterAct – Active Participation and Integrated Support for Migrants in Romania 2026–2027” (Code: AM2A1D_01), implemented in partnership with the MICU Foundation.
From July 2026 to October 2027, the project will support at least 1.200 migrants residing in Romania's Region 1, including beneficiaries of international protection, individuals under temporary protection, and third-country nationals. Assistance will be available through IOM's centres in Bucharest and Brasov, at the asylum seekers' reception and accommodation centre in Bucharest, as well as through mobile outreach teams operating in the community.
As part of the project, at least 350 will benefit from tailored integration support aimed at facilitating their inclusion in Romanian society. Services will include:

🔹Romanian language classes
🔹Assistance in understanding and accessing available local services
🔹Support for vulnerable individuals
🔹Labour market orientation
In addition, the project will organize socio-cultural and community engagement activities for at least 1,000 beneficiaries promoting social inclusion and interaction with host communities.
The budget of the project is RON 5,111,099 and is co-financed through the 2021–2027 National Programme - Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (www.fed.mai.gov.ro)—90% and 10% national funding—under the grant agreement with the General Inspectorate for Immigration (Ministry of Internal Affairs).
