Casa Shalom

Casa Shalom Casa Shalom has been helping Kids and families at risk since 1996. We raised 35 children in our children’s home and helped nearly 2000 Ukrainian Refugees.

We feed children at risk and host camps, conferences and two churches meet here every Sunday. We offer summer KIDS CAMPS for kids in Bucharest and other areas. Our vision is helping kids and families at risk. We help families to prevent abandoning their children. We have outreaches in the villages. Each Sunday at 10 AM a Baptist Church meets at Casa Shalom in our all purpose building. At 11 Am we have a Pentecostal church that meets in the big house. Occasionally we have a big flea market where people can buy used clothes, shoes and some furniture and very reasonable prices.

Nearly a week ago a flood disaster swept through Nepal. Our friends from Nepal that are working here in Bucharest found the pastors and churches that desperately need our help. We can show some love and compassion to a country that needs our prayers, love and donations to help them through this horrific loss of life and simply show them that God has not forgotten them.

Rugați-vă pentru mare eveniment în aer liber pe care îl organizăm astăzi. Ne așteptăm la peste 300 de participanți. Rugați-vă ca Hristos să fie slăvit și ca mulți să-L găsească pe Isus. Rugați-vă pentru siguranță și protecție. Vremea este extrem de caldă. Avem mulți voluntari care vor sluji împreună pentru ca această zi să fie un succes.

We’re so thankful for all the lives we can touch here in Bucharest. So busy with all our activities and not always having time to write about all the things we do. We help a lot of people that live on a limited income. We know God wants us to do more here in this
city. We have had a lot of challenges with our building permits for our construction projects. Pray we get a green light soon, but in the meantime, we will continue to raise the needed funds to complete these projects.

Now, few people know that there are 60,000 imigrant workers from Nepal working in Romania. We have 20,000 Nepalese working in Bucharest. Two months ago we started giving them some food.
Our relationship has grown and last night we had 15 of them at our house. Seven of the group are Pastors and have a heart to reach their people here in Romania. This is a new open door for Casa Shalom. We are excited about this new partnership and how we can help them reach their people with the gospel. Last night we had a beautiful time of fellowship, planning and prayer for our future meetings. We have limited funds for these activities but we serve a God that can move mountains. You can help us reach Nepal right here in Bucharest.

Happy Anniversary USA. I have visited a lot of countries and still believe the US is one of the greatest countries in the world. For those that hate our country I would suggest for you to just leave and go where the grass is greener. You will be so happy and we will celebrate your departure. Just leave and never come back. I see things from another perspective as I’ve worked 45 years in communist and former communist countries. Our country has a lot of flaws because people have flaws. We have a generation that believes they are entitled to a perfect life. I’m sorry free handouts never work. I was taught if I want something, work for it. People have forgotten God and when our nation repents we will fulfill the purpose God created for America.
Do I agree with everything in Washington, of course not! Life is never perfect because people are not perfect. People want to be popular and liked so they compromise. It’s a problem we have in Politics, in the church and our everyday life. It’s time to stand up and stand out. Stand up for truth and righteousness. If you and I don’t, who will? Let me tell you it will cost you a lot but it’s worth it. People will lie about you and try to destroy you. You know who you are and God knows who you are. That’s all that manners in this life. Remember freedom is not free and I honor all those that have served in the U.S. military over the years. You are our hero’s. Thank you for your service and God bless America.

Lately we’ve been having a heatwave here in Europe. I read that 1,000 people died in France due to the extreme heat. Yesterday temperatures were over 100 degrees so we just worked in the house and not outside. În the evening we had a violet thunderstorm with a lot of wind and flooding. The storm with strong winds of 70 K. knocked down over 140 trees and blew roofs off buildings. Flooded and stalled cars were left in the street. We were told it was the most severe storm to hit Bucharest in the last 30 years. One life was lost when a tree fell on the roof of a car a man was driving in the city. The good thing is that that temperatures have dropped considerably and we can now enjoy being outside. We are so thankful we had no damages here at Casa Shalom.

We’ve been extremely busy here in Bucharest, Romania this last week. We have had some cold snowy days and our fork lift did not want to start. After a lot of effort the guys finally got it started and unloaded all the pallets of food. We are so thankful for our partnership with the Bucharest food bank. We had received 14 pallets of croissants, more pallets of meat, pasta, cheese, chocolate, tomatoes and other healthy foods. Now we were able to bless schools, kindergartens, retirement homes, poor families and lots of churches with all those croissants. Wow, we were so amazed, our little organization could bless thousands of people. Glory to the Lord!
