Casa Shalom

Casa Shalom Casa Shalom has been helping Kids and families at risk since 1996. We raised 35 children in our children’s home and helped nearly 2000 Ukrainian Refugees.

We feed children at risk and host camps, conferences and two churches meet here every Sunday. We offer summer KIDS CAMPS for kids in Bucharest and other areas. Our vision is helping kids and families at risk. We help families to prevent abandoning their children. We have outreaches in the villages. Each Sunday at 10 AM a Baptist Church meets at Casa Shalom in our all purpose building. At 11 Am we

have a Pentecostal church that meets in the big house. Occasionally we have a big flea market where people can buy used clothes, shoes and some furniture and very reasonable prices.

Happy Anniversary USA. I have visited a lot of countries and still believe the US is one of the greatest countries in the world. For those that hate our country I would suggest for you to just leave and go where the grass is greener. You will be so happy and we will celebrate your departure. Just leave and never come back. I see things from another perspective as I’ve worked 45 years in communist and former communist countries. Our country has a lot of flaws because people have flaws. We have a generation that believes they are entitled to a perfect life. I’m sorry free handouts never work. I was taught if I want something, work for it. People have forgotten God and when our nation repents we will fulfill the purpose God created for America.
Do I agree with everything in Washington, of course not! Life is never perfect because people are not perfect. People want to be popular and liked so they compromise. It’s a problem we have in Politics, in the church and our everyday life. It’s time to stand up and stand out. Stand up for truth and righteousness. If you and I don’t, who will? Let me tell you it will cost you a lot but it’s worth it. People will lie about you and try to destroy you. You know who you are and God knows who you are. That’s all that manners in this life. Remember freedom is not free and I honor all those that have served in the U.S. military over the years. You are our hero’s. Thank you for your service and God bless America.

Lately we’ve been having a heatwave here in Europe. I read that 1,000 people died in France due to the extreme heat. Yesterday temperatures were over 100 degrees so we just worked in the house and not outside. În the evening we had a violet thunderstorm with a lot of wind and flooding. The storm with strong winds of 70 K. knocked down over 140 trees and blew roofs off buildings. Flooded and stalled cars were left in the street. We were told it was the most severe storm to hit Bucharest in the last 30 years. One life was lost when a tree fell on the roof of a car a man was driving in the city. The good thing is that that temperatures have dropped considerably and we can now enjoy being outside. We are so thankful we had no damages here at Casa Shalom.

We’ve been extremely busy here in Bucharest, Romania this last week. We have had some cold snowy days and our fork lift did not want to start. After a lot of effort the guys finally got it started and unloaded all the pallets of food. We are so thankful for our partnership with the Bucharest food bank. We had received 14 pallets of croissants, more pallets of meat, pasta, cheese, chocolate, tomatoes and other healthy foods. Now we were able to bless schools, kindergartens, retirement homes, poor families and lots of churches with all those croissants. Wow, we were so amazed, our little organization could bless thousands of people. Glory to the Lord!

It’s been an exciting weekend here at Casa Shalom. We have a group from Moldova here to pray and seek the Lord. It’s been wonderful getting to chat and pray together with our brothers and sisters from Moldova. When women get together we always come up with some inspiring new ideas. God bless them as they travel home tomorrow.

Today we received a lot of food from the Bucuresti food-bank. We ended up receiving 7 pallets of crossants today and other healthy foods to help those in need.

We had a extremely busy weekend here at Casa Shalom. As many of you know, we work closely with the Bucharest food bank.
This past weekend they had a national food drive with the Lidl and Penny grocery stores. We were asked to send some volunteers to help with this food drive. Casa Shalom sent 35 volunteers to 5 different stores encouraging the customers to buy some extra food to help a poor family. We were amazed to see how our Bucharest neighbors responded to the food drive. They donated over 5 tons of groceries.
and already we have helped 40 familes right here in our sector. This is so amazing, what a few people can do when we work together.
