Hygge Open Stage Bucharest is the first project of the UHURU FREYA NORTH & SOUTH ARENA Cultural Association, a Romanian non-profit organization based in Bucharest (CUI 49240910). Originally brought from Denmark by a Romanian artist, where she developed the project for three years, it has now reached its one-year anniversary in Romania, celebrating 40 editions in Bucharest. Promoting "Harmonies and Traditions," it is a vibrant space dedicated to reconnecting the community with the beauty of the live arts.
Rooted in the Scandinavian concept of “hygge”— that cozy state of well-being, intimacy, and the joy of simple moments—the project invites people of all ages and cultures into a warm, welcoming space. As an open stage, every participant typically gets their own artistic moment, allowing each evening to build organically from the unique contributions of those present. It is a night where artists and the audience truly meet, moving far beyond the boundaries of a traditional stage.
Our primary mission is to breathe life back into the spirit of international celebration by hosting these regular artistic gatherings, where music, poetry, and dance intertwine in an open cultural dialogue. Every event we create is designed as a bridge between generations and artistic genres—a place where established artists, young talents, and emerging amateurs alike can share their sensitivity and passion before an audience longing for authenticity.
Through our themed evenings, music and poetry performances, or dynamic dance workshops, we transform the cultural act from passive viewing into a shared, deeply felt experience, creating a close-knit community united by emotion and creativity.
