𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | DBCON, CDSG conduct Drug Awareness and Prevention Seminar

To strengthen its commitment to a safe and drug-free campus, the Council of Department Student Government (CDSG), in partnership with the Drug Buster Confederation (DBCON) of UM Tagum College, conducted a Drug Awareness and Prevention Seminar at the PB San Jose Gymnasium on February 19, 2026.

The seminar featured distinguished guest speakers Florencio Carlo S. Domingo, Dona Conception, representative of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC), and Janece Argullozos, Agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). The speakers emphasized the importance of awareness, prevention, and collective responsibility in combating illegal drugs through education and informed action.

The activity was spearheaded by CDSG, in collaboration with DBCON, under the guidance of DBCON Adviser Ma’am Nikki V. Espra, RCrim, and with the leadership of President Neil Alexis Tejada, highlighting a united effort in empowering students to build safer and drug-free communities.

𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 | UMTC-OSA to conduct Drug Awareness Seminar for freshmen, employees

Reinforcing awareness of drug addiction and its psychological, physical, and social impacts, the UM Tagum College Office of Student Affairs (UMTC-OSA) mandates all first year students and selected employees to attend the Drug Awareness and Prevention Seminar at the PB San Jose Gymnasium on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Bearing the theme "Empowered Minds, Safe Lives: Combating Drugs Through Knowledge," the Council of Department Student Government (CDSG) in coordination with the Drug Buster Confederation (DBCON) aims to encourage preventive measures, responsible behavior, and a collective commitment toward maintaining a drug-free and safe university environment.

This initiative reflects UMTC’s dedication to student welfare and adherence to the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).

𝙋𝙖𝙜𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙙, 𝙋𝙖𝙜-𝙖𝙢𝙪𝙢𝙖, 𝙪𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙢

The 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙚 — 𝘽𝘼𝘿𝘼𝘾 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚 successfully conducted a 𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩 𝙂𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙮 for 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝘿𝙚𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙇𝙞𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙮 (PDLs) held at the 𝙏𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙢 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙅𝙖𝙞𝙡, 𝘽𝙧𝙜𝙮. 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙣, in collaboration with the 𝘿𝙧𝙪𝙜 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 as volunteer partners. This initiative aims to extend support, compassion, and encouragement to our PDLs, reinforcing our shared commitment to community care and rehabilitation.

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to share kindness and connection with the PDL community, proving that even small acts of service can brighten lives and uplift hearts, while reinforcing our advocacy for rehabilitation, second chances, and a safer, more compassionate community for all.

Accompanied and guided by our lovely and inspiring adviser, 𝙈𝙖'𝙖𝙢 𝙉𝙞𝙠𝙠𝙞 𝙑. 𝙀𝙨𝙥𝙧𝙖, 𝙍𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙢, the team represented DBCON with humility, empathy, and genuine dedication to service.

Wow! Grabe, what an amazing and heart-warming experience ang 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙠𝙪𝙝𝙖𝙣 2025 sa 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤 𝙏𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙢 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚! The whole celebration was filled with joy, music, and that warm Christmas spirit nga makapalipay gyud sa tanan. It was truly an unforgettable moment—kanang dili nimo malimtan, kay lingaw kaayo!

The 𝘿𝙧𝙪𝙜 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 proudly and cheerfully joined the event, bringing our own booth to showcase who we are and what our organization stands for. Among all the bright lights and festive crowds, we made sure to represent with energy, passion, and unity.

𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙠𝙪𝙝𝙖𝙣 2025 wasn’t just an event, it was a celebration of community, camaraderie, and the true meaning of Christmas. Ug syempre, salamat kaayo sa tanan nga ni-support, ni-bisita, ug ni-enjoy sa among booth. Kitakits napud sa sunod nga tuig, Ga!

This Paskuhan 2025, DBCON went around the University of Mindanao Tagum Campus to ask our fellow UMTCians:
“Unsa para nimo ang Pasko?”
Their answers were a meaningful mix of hope, gratitude, and love from being with family, to giving back, to finding peace after a long and challenging academic journey.

Through this short video, we share not only holiday cheer, but the voices, stories, and heart of the UMTC community.

Christmas signifies renewal and commitment, serving as a reminder to continue advocating for awareness, responsibility, and a safer community.

Empowering the Youth Through Service and Learning

The DBCON Organization proudly joined the Community Extension Program during the Girl Scouts of the Philippines School-based Camp at Antonio V. Fruto, Sr. National High School (AVFSNHS).

In collaboration with SERT, KARATEDO, and PHILTOP, DBCON members shared their time and knowledge to help nurture the scouts’ leadership, awareness, and preparedness in their community.

This initiative not only strengthens DBCON’s commitment to outreach and service but also embodies the organization’s mission to inspire youth participation, teamwork, and compassion beyond the classroom.

Happy Scouts! We hope you enjoyed learning with us as much as we enjoyed spending this day of service and growth with you.

We're grateful to Foundation for a Drug-Free World International for their generous contribution to our cause. Kudos to our esteemed adviser, 𝙈𝙖'𝙖𝙢 𝙉𝙞𝙠𝙠𝙞 𝙑. 𝙀𝙨𝙥𝙧𝙖, and to our dedicated 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙨 for their hard work in making this event a success.
