The DCT Student Emergency Response Team (SERT) urges everyone in Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija to remain alert and take necessary precautions following the Red Rainfall Warning issued by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) at 11:07 AM, August 9, 2026.

Expect intense rainfall that may lead to flooding and possible landslides, particularly in low-lying and landslide-prone areas.

To our fellow Tarlac residents and Dominikano community, please remain vigilant and closely monitor official advisories from local authorities. Avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from flooded areas and waterways, and be prepared to evacuate should authorities issue an evacuation order.

The Student Emergency Response Team (SERT) informs the Dominikanos that an Orange Rainfall Warning was issued over Tarlac at around 5:30 PM today, August 8, 2026.

The warning indicates moderate to heavy rainfall that may cause flooding and possible landslides, especially in low-lying and landslide-prone areas.

Everyone is advised to monitor official weather updates, avoid flooded areas and unnecessary travel, and follow the instructions of local authorities. Those in vulnerable areas are encouraged to prepare for possible evacuation if conditions worsen.

Today, the DCT Student Emergency Response Team joins the Dominican community in celebrating the Feast of Saint Dominic de Guzmán, founder of the Order of Preachers, commonly known as the Dominicans.

Saint Dominic de Guzmán (1170–1221) was a Spanish Catholic priest and preacher who devoted his life to spreading the Gospel, pursuing truth, and serving others. He founded the Order of Preachers, which was officially approved by Pope Honorius III in 1216, with a mission centered on preaching, education, study, and the pursuit of truth.

His dedication to faith, learning, compassion, and service continues to inspire the Dominican community to live out these values in their daily lives.

May the celebration of his feast remind us of our shared responsibility to serve with compassion, uphold the truth, and use our knowledge and abilities for the good of others.

Although Luis has weakened into a Low Pressure Area (LPA), its remaining circulation continues to enhance the southwest monsoon (Habagat). At the same time, Tropical Depression Maymay is now the primary weather system affecting the country, bringing widespread rainfall across many parts of Luzon.

Due to the combined effects of these weather systems, heavy rains may continue, increasing the risk of flooding and rain-induced landslides in vulnerable areas.

The DCT Student Emergency Response Team (SERT) reminds all Dominikanos to remain vigilant, avoid flood-prone areas whenever possible, and stay updated through official advisories from PAGASA and your local government.
