YMCA Cagayan de Oro YMCA is offering vastly different broad range of programs in response to local community needs. The World Alliance's main motto is "empowering young people."

The Young Men's Christian Association (commonly known as YMCA or simply the Y) is a worldwide organisation based in Geneva, Switzerland, with more than 57 million beneficiaries from 125 national associations.[1] It was founded on 6 June 1844 by George Williams in London and aims to put Christian principles into practice by developing a healthy "body, mind, and spirit." These three angles are refle

cted by the different sides of the (red) triangleโ€”part of all YMCA logos. From its inception, it grew rapidly and ultimately became a worldwide movement founded on the principles of Muscular Christianity. Local YMCAs engage in a wide variety of charitable activities, including providing athletic facilities, holding classes for a wide variety of skills, proselytising Christianity, and humanitarian work. YMCAs continue to be religious organisations; many national or local organisations de-emphasise this aspect, while others choose to prioritise its religious mission above all others. The different local YMCAs are voluntarily affiliated through their national organisations. The national organisations in turn are part of both an Area Alliance and the World Alliance of YMCAs.

The YMCA of Cagayan de Oro reaffirmed its commitment to community development and lifelong learning by participating in the ๐Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ค๐ž๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ' ๐“๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐จ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐€๐‹๐’ ๐Ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“๐ญ๐ก ๐’๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐ค๐ž ๐–๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง held at La Buena Vida, Grand Europa on July 8, 2026.

The gathering brought together representatives from the Philippine Air Force, the La Buena Vida Homeowners Association, the Alternative Learning System (ALS), the Department of Educationโ€“Division of Cagayan de Oro through Mr. Romeo Aclo, and the Cagayan de Oro YMCA, Inc., represented by Programs Officer Mr. AJ Suprito.

The activity also marked the formal turnover of monobloc chairs previously donated by the YMCA, through the initiative of YMCA President ๐‡๐จ๐ง. ๐†๐ข๐ฅ๐๐š "๐†๐ข๐ ๐ข" ๐Ž. ๐†๐จ, during the recent Brigada Eskwela. The donation will help provide a more conducive learning environment for learners enrolled in the homeowners association's ALS program.

The YMCA of Cagayan de Oro, Inc. proudly joined the ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐Ÿ‘๐‹๐ž๐š๐๐ฌ: ๐Ÿ‘๐™๐ž๐ซ๐จ ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐› ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฌ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง on July 11, 2026 with the theme, "Shaping the Future through Purpose, Innovation, and Social Action." The event held at the City Tourism Hall, gathered youth leaders, young entrepreneurs, and youth organizations from across the country, including the dedicated members of the CdeO YMCA Youth Council, for a day of collaboration, learning, and meaningful engagement.

Beyond participating in the convention, the YMCA team and its youth volunteers showcased the organization's flagship programs and initiatives through an interactive exhibit, engaging participants with fun games and exciting prizes. The event was further highlighted by the presence of YMCA President ๐‡๐จ๐ง. ๐†๐ข๐ฅ๐๐š "๐†๐ข๐ ๐ข" ๐Ž. ๐†๐จ, who served as one of the convention's preliminary speakers and later visited the YMCA booth to meet and interact with participants.

Through initiatives such as Youth3Leads, the YMCA continues to inspire and equip young people to become purpose-driven leaders, innovators, and changemakers who will shape a better future for their communities.
