For the KLSS community, Para sa Ipo is more than an event or a campaign. It is our way of showing the Bantay Gubat (Forest Guards) of Mt. Balagbag that someone sees, appreciates, and supports the importance of their work in protecting the Ipo Watershed and the mountains that surround it.

Through our revitalized campaign, , KLSS was able to turn over 32 ponchos and a 2-way radio to Bantay Gubat teams. These may seem simple, but they are critical equipment for their daily operations and emergency situations as they carry out their responsibilities within the watershed.

Para sa Ipo Renew has become KLSS' way of reviving the conversation around the Ipo Watershed and reminding our communities of its vital role in our water security.

To all our members and supporters who continue to believe in and support this mission, maraming, maraming salamat. Your participation helps keep this conversation alive and turns concern into action.

Bakit ang tindi ng baha ngayon sa Montalban Rizal? Ito ay dahil sa kalbong mga bundok gaya ng Mt. Balagbag na sinabayan pa ng napakalakas na ulan dulot ng Habagat.

Makikita sa simpleng diagram ang dahilan. Dahil sa kalbong bundok.

Nakakalungkot lang na ang mga MENRO at BENRO mismo ng mga lugar na ito ang siyang pumipigil at patuloy na nagpapatupad ng restriction sa mga nagtatanim ng puno sa Mt. Balagbag. Sila na patuloy na nagpapahayag ng di umano status quo sa mga reforestation activities kaysa sa mga illegal settlers na patuloy na sumisira sa kabundukan.

Lagi nilang sinasabi na botante nila ang mga di-umanong illegal settlers dahil nalalapit na nga naman ang Barangay Election. Pero ano ba ang mahalaga, ang kapakanan ng illan o ang kapakanan ng nakakarami?

Sana din ay patuloy na magsulong ng mga programang pangkalikasan ang PENRO ng Rizal gayundin ang PENRO ng Bulacan. Wakasan na sana ang mga patuloy na pang-aabuso ng mga dumarami pang informal settlers sa kabundukan at bigyan ng proteksyon ang mga kagubatan.

Dahil hindi ang bilyong Flood Control Projects ang solusyon na ginagawa lamang gatasan ng mga pulitiko kung hindi ang pagtatanim ng puno sa mga kabundukan na mas mainam na flood control project.

Dahil sa bandang huli, tayo din naman ang mga apektado sa mapaminsalang epekto ng kalikasan.
