This morning, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, members of the Rotaract Club of Port Moresby proudly joined the Port Moresby Rotary Club to unpack, sort, and load a shipment of linens, toys, walkers, hospital beds, wheelchairs, and other essential medical equipment.

Together, we successfully loaded seven vehicles destined for delivery:
1 Big Truck
1 Small Truck
2 Vans
2 Open-Back Utes
1 Five-Door Vehicle

These donations will support Cheshire Disability Services and the Central Provincial Health Authority, helping improve the quality of care for individuals and communities that need it most.

Today's project was also a fantastic opportunity to involve three prospective Rotaract members, giving them a firsthand experience of what Service Above Self truly means. We hope to welcome them into our club in the near future.

There were plenty of heavy boxes, a lot of teamwork, and definitely a few sweaty shirts, but every lift, every box, and every volunteer made a real difference. Even more inspiring was hearing that equipment unpacked just last weekend is already being used in clinics across Central Province, demonstrating how quickly these efforts are transforming lives.

A sincere thank you to the Port Moresby Rotary Club for inviting us to be part of this meaningful initiative. We look forward to continuing our partnership and serving our communities together in the weeks, months, and years ahead.

The Rotaract Club of Port Moresby proudly marked the beginning of a new Rotary year at our 2026–2027 Changeover Lunch, celebrating leadership, service, and the continued growth of our club.

The formal ceremony saw the induction of our incoming President, Nathaniel, and the 2026–2027 Board of Directors, as leadership was officially passed from outgoing President Hananiah Dickson through the presentation of the President's Collar—a symbolic tradition representing continuity, responsibility, and service.

The afternoon also provided an opportunity to recognise the dedication and achievements of our outgoing Board of Directors, whose commitment throughout the 2025–2026 Rotary year helped strengthen our club, deliver impactful community projects, and create meaningful opportunities for member development.

We were honoured to celebrate our annual award recipients, recognising outstanding volunteers whose commitment, leadership, and willingness to go above and beyond made a lasting contribution to the success of our projects and the growth of our club.

A special highlight of the day was the induction of nine new Rotaractors—the largest single member induction in the club's history. This milestone reflects our continued commitment to growing a vibrant, engaged, and service-driven membership.

As we begin a new Rotary year, we extend our congratulations to President Nathaniel and the incoming Board of Directors. We also thank our outgoing leaders, members, partners, sponsors, family, and friends for their continued support.

Here's to another year of Service Above Self, fellowship, and creating lasting impact within our communities.

Last Saturday, members of the Rotaract Club of Port Moresby gathered for our Annual General Meeting to reflect on the past Rotary year and look ahead to the next.

Through reports from our Board of Directors, we celebrated the achievements, projects, partnerships, and milestones that have shaped our Club over the past year, while also discussing lessons learned and opportunities for growth. During the meeting, we were also pleased to present our Certificate of Appreciation received for participating in the 2026 Sir Anthony Siaguru Walk Against Corruption (SASWAC).

A huge thank you to our members for their commitment, service, and support throughout the year. Every project, meeting, fundraiser, and fellowship activity is made possible because of the people behind it.

As we prepare for a new Rotary year, we're excited for what lies ahead and look forward to continuing to serve our communities, develop future leaders, and strengthen the connections that make our Club what it is.

Last Sunday, the Rotaract Club of Port Moresby proudly participated in the 16th Sir Anthony Siaguru Walk Against Corruption (SASWAC) 2026 for the very first time.

As a youth-led organisation, we believe the fight against corruption is not only a national issue - it is a youth issue. Participating in SASWAC was our way of standing behind the values we believe in and joining hundreds of Papua New Guineans advocating for integrity, accountability, and positive change.

While small in number, our team was honoured to receive the Best Banner Prize, recognising the effort and creativity invested in sharing a message of integrity.

A big thank you to Transparency International PNG for organising this important event, Trukai Industries for sponsoring the prizes, and the Resistance Dance Crew for bringing energy to the morning through their warm-up and cool-down sessions. Thank you also to our Club Patron, members, prospective members, and supporters who proudly represented the Club on the day. Finally, our thanks to Chalau for capturing the day's memorable moments.

This experience reinforced the importance of youth participation in shaping our country's future, and we look forward to making SASWAC a regular activity for our Club.

On Saturday, 6 June, members of the Rotaract Club of Port Moresby returned to Sacred Heart Primary School to continue our tree planting initiative as part of our ongoing commitment to environmental service and in recognition of World Environment Day.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Stefan Sowei with Rotary Club of Port Moresby and to TotalEnergies, represented by Rebecca Melepia and Donnya Gordon, for their support of this initiative. Through this partnership, TotalEnergies generously donated 30 trees to support the project and joined us on the day for the planting activity.

Our thanks also go to Soroptimist International Port Moresby and for the tyre planters donated earlier as part of this ongoing project, as well as the teachers and ancillary staff of Sacred Heart Primary School who assisted throughout the morning.

Finally, thank you to our dedicated members and prospective members who volunteered their time and energy to help make the activity a success. Together, we continue to invest in a greener future, one tree at a time.

Happy World Environment Day 🌎

Today, we celebrate the importance of protecting and preserving our environment for future generations.

These photos are from our participation in an ocean clean-up initiative organised by the Port Moresby Royal Papua Yacht Club in recognition of World Environment Day 2024. As a club, we were proud to volunteer alongside other community members in helping keep our coastline clean and raising awareness about environmental stewardship.

Whether through tree planting, clean-up activities, or everyday actions, we all have a role to play in caring for the world around us.

Together, small actions can create a lasting impact. 💚
