I am profoundly grateful for the transformative journey I have experienced through the Miss Bird of Paradise pageant. This platform has been an incredible opportunity for personal and professional growth, allowing me to develop confidence, refine my public speaking skills, and deepen my passion for advocating for minority groups, particularly individuals with disabilities. Representing my community and sharing my story has been both a privilege and an honor.

Greetings everyone, my name is Michaelyne Dulcie Marum. I am 22 years young and I am purely from East New Britain. I am honored to be a contestant in the Miss Bird of Paradise pageant this year as Miss BNN Foundation.

BNN foundation is a nongovernmental organization that aims to promote and provide basic healthcare services to the rural communities, run job trainings to SMEs , provide housing for rural communities in the event of natural disasters, to the unprivileged families and broken families, provide second chance education to school leavers and empowering youths in areas of training imparting knowledge and skills. The values and practices of the organization aligns well with what MBOP stands for and my values as an individual.

This pageant is more than just a celebration of beauty it is a platform to amplify the voices of those who are often overlooked in our society, particularly people with disabilities but also to appreciate the vibrant culture, traditions and natural beauty of our homeland.

As a proud Papua New Guinean, I am passionate about using this opportunity to advocate for inclusion, celebrate our cultural treasures and inspire change for a more equitable society for all.
