SUBJECT: CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS โ IT/WEB DEVELOPER AND SOCIAL MEDIA SETUP ๐๐ป
1. THE IMPORTANCE OF VOLUNTEERISM IN DEVELOPING OUR ORGANIZATION ๐ค
Our organization, the Morobe Community Development Association (MCDA), is dedicated to advocating for the social, economic, and infrastructural needs of residents in the Morobe Block Settlement. We aim to empower community members by fostering sustainable development, improving living conditions, securing land rights, and promoting social cohesion. Working collaboratively with government agencies, NGOs, and local residents, we address critical issues such as inadequate infrastructure, limited access to essential services, land tenure challenges, and poor housing.
Volunteerism is the backbone of our efforts as a civic and community-based organization. It is through the dedicated service of volunteers that we are able to pursue our mission and make a meaningful impact. Currently, the MCDA Executive Team operates entirely on volunteer service, our leaders and organizers do not receive payment for their dedication. Their commitment demonstrates the true spirit of volunteerism that drives our community development initiatives. ๐ช๐

Most importantly, volunteering enables you, the community stakeholders, to take ownership of the issues affecting our community. Your active involvement ensures that solutions are community-driven, sustainable, and truly reflective of our residentsโ needs. When you volunteer, you become a vital part of shaping the future of Morobe Settlement, making a lasting impact on your environment and your communityโs wellbeing. ๐๐๏ธ
Your participation is crucial to building a resilient, self-reliant settlement where residents have the resources and opportunities to thrive. Every contribution, big or small, helps us move closer to our goal of creating a more inclusive and sustainable community. ๐๐ค
2. CURRENT OFFICE STATUS AND NEED FOR VIRTUAL OFFICE ๐ป๐
While we have a physical office, it lacks the necessary equipment and resources to effectively carry out our organizational activities. To better serve our community and strengthen our outreach, we are now planning to establish a virtual or online office.
We urgently need 6 Volunteers to set up and manage our online presence. Each Volunteer will be tasked to do one of these tasks;
1. Creating a website for the organization using free or basic plans on CMS platforms such as WordPress or Wix ๐ฅ๏ธ
2. Creating and managing our YouTube account ๐น
3. Creating and managing our LinkedIn account๐
4. Creating and managing our Twitter (X) account๐ฆ
5. Creating and managing our Instagram account๐ธ
6. Creating and managing our TikTok account ๐ธ
Please note: We already have a page ๐ and WhatsApp account ๐ฑ; however, the other social media platforms listed above have not yet been created. Each Volunteer are asked to set up one of these accounts and forward the login credentials to the MCDA Executive Team for management.
3. VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT FOR WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT ๐ฅ๏ธ๐
In addition to establishing social media platforms, we seek a qualified IT professional or web developer to help develop and maintain our community website.
๏ผ Responsibilities: Develop and maintain the website.
๏ผ Note: The website should be simple, accessible, and serve as an online platform for community engagement, using free hosting services or CMS platforms like WordPress or Wix.
4. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND MOBILIZATION ๐๐ค
We emphasize the importance of working together as a community, especially within the surrounding settlements. Our community leaders and volunteers are the backbone of our efforts.
We call upon educated and elite Morobeans living within Morobe Block to come forward and volunteer their services. ๐
