JBK TB Clinic is a specialty clinic for Tuberculosis at the Port Moresby General Hospital (PMGH) in the National Capital District of Papua New Guinea. We know the importance of the TB program and the patients it serves in order to sustain and improve the treatment outcome. We also know the potential negative impact the COVID-19 pandemic can have on the TB program. Amid, COVID-19 pandemic, PMGH has

scaled down hospital services and JBK TB Clinic has also been affected by this decision. Despite physical distancing, we are trying this platform to technologically or digitally maintain communication with our patient and identify serious cases that need doctors' attention. This would not only extend our communication/consultation to the comfort of the patient's home, but it will also assist to triage our patients so the ONLY sick ones needing admission can be physically seen in the clinic during this pandemic. We welcome criticism as this will help us to improve this new online service.

HIV weakens the immune system, making it easier for TB to develop.

PNG has one of the highest TB burdens in the Western Pacific region.

Early testing and sticking to treatment (both HIV and TB) can prevent severe illness and save lives.

Stigma stops people from seeking help; kindness and support save lives.

🔹 What You Can Do Today

✨ Get tested for HIV and know your status.
✨ Visit a clinic if you have TB symptoms: cough, fever, night sweats, or weight loss.
✨ Support loved ones living with HIV or TB; no discrimination.
✨ Encourage treatment adherence for family members on ART or TB medicine.

Together, we can build a stronger, healthier PNG where no one is left behind.

Today, we at JBK TB Clinic stand with all Papua New Guineans affected by HIV and TB.

In our city, HIV and TB continue to challenge families, but early testing, treatment, and community support save lives.

🔹 HIV increases the risk of TB, TB is a leading cause of death among people with HIV. (WHO/UNAIDS)
🔹 Get tested, seek care if you have symptoms, and support your loved ones.
🔹 Ending stigma is essential, compassion saves lives.
