This role is suited for someone who enjoys field-based work and is passionate about supporting safe and sustainable aviation access in rural communities.

📋𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀:
• Coordinate airstrip maintenance and inspection activities across the South Fly District
• Monitor AMO performance, attendance, and maintenance outputs
• Track and report operational defects, risks, and maintenance issues
• Maintain accurate records relating to maintenance, inventory, and payments
• Support compliance with aviation safety standards and operational procedures
• Engage with communities, stakeholders, and aviation partners to support sustainable operations
• Identify and recommend practical operational improvements

👤𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿:
• Qualification in Aviation, Infrastructure, Engineering, Construction, Logistics or related fields
• 5–7 years’ experience in aviation, infrastructure, field operations or similar environment
• 2–3 years’ experience in construction, civil works or airstrip rehabilitation
• Strong understanding of aviation operations, airstrip safety and compliance
• Proven experience working in remote/rural field environments
• Strong coordination, planning, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to travel frequently and work in rural and demanding locations
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and deliver practical field-based solutions
• Asset or inventory management experience will be an advantage

• Certificate, Diploma, or relevant training in Aviation, Logistics, Infrastructure, Engineering, or a related field
• 1–2 years’ experience in aviation operations, logistics, infrastructure support, or similar environments
• Basic understanding of airstrip operations and aviation safety requirements
• Experience working in remote or rural locations
• Strong coordination, reporting, and organizational skills
• Ability to travel frequently and work in field-based locations
• Understanding of aviation safety and compliance standards
• Experience with inventory or asset tracking is an advantage

This role is critical in improving access to quality eye care, reducing preventable blindness, and strengthening primary eye health services in Western Province.

📋𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀:
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions and visual impairments
- Prescribe therapeutic ophthalmic medications appropriately
- Assess refractive errors and prescribe corrective lenses
- Identify and refer patients requiring specialist ophthalmology care or surgery
- Conduct eye health promotion, community outreach, and awareness programs
- Provide primary eye care training to other health workers

👤𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿:
- Qualified Nursing Officer (NO) or Health Extension Officer (HEO)
- Current registration with the PNG Nursing Council (NO) or PNG Medical Board (HEO)
- Advanced Diploma in Eye Care (ADEC)
- Minimum of 3+ years’ relevant clinical experience in eye care
- Trained to independently deliver non-surgical eye care services
- Ability to work independently in remote and resource-limited settings
