Time to clean up the hooves for spring 🌸

Here is your reminder to keep an eye out for the signs of laminitis! Donkeys and mini ponies are especially prone to laminitis so it is really important to be vigilant so your much loved babies dont founder. Always use a qualified farrier to carry out hoof trimming when laminitis is involved 😇

A little tip from us here - Poseidon Digestive EQ paired with their EquiBind helps support our fur babies with boosting their immune system and dealing with our silly nz spring grass. These products help in reducing their grass affected symptoms while they transition to the paddock they use during spring time.

We are not sponsored, just so incredibly thankful this brand and their products is available at our favourite feed store Living Rural Pāuatahanui

Stockdale Farm Annual General Meeting

We’re excited to announce that we are holding our 2026 Annual General Meeting for the Stockdale 2024 Inc committee and it will be held on the 1st of November at 2pm, here at the farm.

We’re looking for some enthusiastic new faces to join our committee, and you could be one of them!

If you’re passionate about Stockdale Farm, have plenty of motivation, and would love to get more involved in what we do, we’d love for you to come along and find out more.

No previous committee experience is needed, all you need is a willingness to get involved, a positive attitude, and an understanding (or an interest in learning more) about who we are and what we do.

Come along, meet the team, have a chat, and see what being part of the committee is all about!

We’d love to see some new faces and hear your ideas!

Life can feel so silly at times. It can feel unfair, unkind and ugly but actually, life is truly beautiful.

Here is some tips that could be of use to you, if you feel like life is just a little bit too hard.

1. Go outside. This doesn't have to be exercise, though exercise does help! This can simply mean, sitting outside and feeling the breeze against your skin. Meg recommends sitting on the ground without shoes, become one with the ground. Breathe with the earth and let the atmosphere hold you.

2. Write down how you feel. Be absolutely truthful in how you feel in the moment. Sometimes, writing it down can feel like talking to someone without the fear of the judgement that your brain is saying you will face. (You can either throw it away after or keep it, just think about what would be best for your mindset).

And..

3. Animals! We aren't just telling you this because of what we do. Animals helped Meg long before our Stockdale Farm was even a thing! Animals have a great sense of how you are feeling so go cuddle them, take them for a walk, or even just talking to them helps. They do actually listen even if they don't know how to communicate with us in our language. They know when you need them and they will help regulate your nervous system.

Of course, these tips won't always help but these are ones that we do truly trust can help someone. We have always said "even if we help only one person then we have still done our job". These tips have helped Meg and the many youths that we have seen over the 8 years. So, we hope these help you. Everyone deserves to see life for its beauty and we will forever strive to make that happen. 💕

Even our smallest family members have a way of soothing loud minds. 🐓

As it is Su***de Prevention Month, here is gentle and loving reminder. It is ok to have emotions. You are strong, you are loved and you are important. Also, you are allowed to feel the way you feel, but remember if your feelings cause you to be at risk of causing harm to yourself or others, there is no shame in asking for help. You are never alone 💜🩵

One of the younger farm hands unfortunately decided to say yes, she wanted her own pony near the grumpy 26 year old farm hand, who was watching said young farm hand struggle to put a toy halter on her toy pony...

The grumpy farm hand decided, with of course permission from the younger farm hands mum to teach her, how to care for horses that she's not allowed ride to prove how much she wants it... here is how that went... 😅

(Disclaimer - These were taken over the weekend, hence the outfit change and also have permission from the mum to post her on the page).
