Keep an eye out for our 2026 County Lane Fair poster!

Over the next couple of weeks, we’re hoping to spread these far and wide across the Hutt Valley as we count down to County Lane Fair on Saturday 14 November at Brewtown Upper Hutt 9am-2pm

We have a fantastic line-up of creative, talented stallholders, with loads of beautiful locally made goodies to discover.

And the best bit? ❤️ By coming along and supporting our stallholders, you’ll also be helping us raise funds for two fantastic causes Wellington Free Ambulance and Lions Clubs Cancer Trust

And if you spot one of our posters out and about, let us know where you saw it and you'll go in the draw to win a $20 gift voucher from The Coffee Club NZ (Drawn on 13th November to be collected at the event).

🇳🇵 HELP US HELP NEPAL ❤️

Our September fundraising is all about helping the people of Nepal following the devastating floods.

📍 Charltons – Fridays from 5pm
Come along for our weekly Meat Raffle!

📍 New World Silverstream - Saturdays, 10am–2pm
Join us for our Sausage Sizzle (weather permitting)

100% of the money we raise in September will be donated to help those affected by the floods in Nepal.

Looking for a beautiful bunch of spring daffodils? Some of our members are outside Silverstream Espresso this morning helping collect for Cancer Society Daffodil Day.

Every donation appreciated and $5 for a freshly picked bunch of daffodils.

🌳 Growing Our Legacy at Mawaihakona Stream🌳

Silverstream Lions recently donated 50 tōtara trees to Mawaihakona Stream and yesterday three of our members got their hands dirty and planted the first 25.

Well… three members, one dragged-along hubby and one dog who was only there because a walk afterwards had been promised!🐕😂

It was a beautiful day to be out in the community, dodging the rain and doing something that will last far beyond us.

There’s something pretty special about thinking that our 52-year-old Silverstream Lions Club NZ will continue to have a presence in the community through these beautiful native trees — providing shade, habitat and enjoyment for generations to come. 🌿💚

25 planted, 25 to go… and hopefully the dog will be available for the next shift!** 🐾

**The Helpful Lion**

A new Lions member proudly told everyone, "I joined because I wanted to make a real difference in my community."

At the next project, he was handed a broom.

The following month, he was flipping sausages.

Then he spent three hours directing traffic at a fundraiser.

Finally, he asked an experienced Lion, "When do we get to do the important community work?"

The veteran smiled and replied, "You've been doing it all along."

**Moral of the story:** Sometimes the biggest difference is made by the smallest jobs that nobody notices.

*After all, every successful Lions project is built by people willing to pick up the broom before they pick up the trophy.* 🦁
