FROM SCHOOL CAPTAIN TO TOP GRADUATE: OLD BOY RETURNS
It was a privilege to welcome our 2022 School Captain, Ben Wilson, back to campus this week!
He spent the afternoon sharing his journey with the Year 13 Accounting class and sat down for a "Fireside Chat" with our Year 10 students as part of their Development Programme (DVP). The Journey from his time here (2016-2022) to life at the University of Otago, Ben shared what it takes to succeed. We are incredibly proud to hear he was the Top Graduating Student in Finance and Commerce and has now secured a graduate role at the leading investment bank, Jarden.
Ben was asked if Honour, Integrity, Belief, and Service really matter in the corporate world. The answer was a resounding YES. He emphasised that in high-performance environments, character is often the factor that sets candidates apart. Ben left the Year 10s with a powerful philosophy to navigate the year ahead: "Start Now, Small Habits Create Big Dividends." Just like compound interest, the small, positive actions taken today build up to significant success tomorrow.
