Kia ora e te whānau šŸ’™

Next week is Men’s Health Week, a reminder for our tāne to take a moment to check in with themselves and each other.

Good health isn’t just about the physical, it’s about hauora as a whole. Moving your tinana, checking on your mental wellbeing, connecting with whānau and mates, and making time for regular health checks all matter.

Sometimes the smallest steps can make the biggest difference. Go for the walk, book the check-up - you go into the draw to win one of the prizes on our flyer, have the kōrero, get some rest, and know that asking for support is strength.

To all our tāne, your wellbeing matters.
Stronger today. Better tomorrow. šŸ’ŖšŸ½

A few of our kaimahi have been part of a working group helping to establish a whānau support group for whānau impacted by m**h. This kaupapa has been created to provide a safe, supportive space for whānau to connect, share, and access support alongside others who understand the journey.

If you or your whānau, who may be interested in, or would benefit from this, please share this information with them and encourage them to come along. (See flyer for details.)

If you would like any further information, please feel free to get in touch with Nataria or Sylvia on: 07 552 4573 Ext: 804 or 708

🌿 Our Pātaka Kai is full and ready for our community 🌿

If you or your whānau are needing a little extra kai, please come by and help yourselves. Take what you need, and leave some for others so everyone can be cared for šŸ¤

This is what community and manaakitanga looks like — supporting one another through kindness, sharing, and aroha.

ā€œEhara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.ā€
(My strength is not mine alone, but the strength of many.)

Look after yourselves and each other ✨

šŸ’™ June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month šŸ’™

Bowel cancer can affect anyone — and early detection can save lives.

This month is about raising awareness, encouraging kōrero, and reminding our whānau not to ignore the signs. Symptoms can include ongoing stomach pain, changes in bowel habits, blood in the stool, tiredness, or unexplained weight loss.

Getting checked early is important. If som**hing doesn’t feel right, please kōrero with your doctor or hauora provider. 🌿

Let’s continue to support, educate and look after one another by breaking the stigma and encouraging regular check-ups within our whānau and communities.

Your health matters. Your life matters. šŸ’™

Huge mihi to all of our rangatahi who took part in our Learner License Programme during Youth week last week! šŸ‘šŸ½šŸš—šŸ“š

Over the past 3 days, our tauira showed commitment, focus, and determination as they worked towards gaining their learner licence. Watch out whānau because these rangatahi have successfully passed! šŸŽ‰ What an awesome achievement and a reflection of all the hard work put in throughout the course.

A very special shout out and thank you to Makareta McDonnell, Arlouise Brooking, and Kristoffer Schou for their guidance, support, and facilitation across the 3-day programme. Your encouragement and dedication helped create a positive and successful learning environment to push our rangatahi over the line! šŸ™‚

Youth Week is all about encouraging young people to stand strong, dream big, and build confidence in themselves — and this programme was the perfect example of that in action. We are so proud of everyone who took part and gave it their all. šŸ™ŒšŸ½šŸ’›
